Exploring Disney: Swirling Like an Alien

In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find the incredibly fun Toy Story Land, an area set up like Andy’s backyard – where you’re the size of all of the toys! Andy has so many favorite toys and of course, the Aliens are some of the most fun – so much so that there’s an entire attraction dedicated to them.

On our most recent visit, we experienced Alien Swirling Saucers for the first time, and what a fun surprise it was! My hubby was convinced it was a “kiddie ride” LOL – little did he know! Once on the ride, he laughed and giggled and thoroughly enjoyed it so much he wanted to ride again! So much for being a kiddie ride.

Yes, Alien Swirling Saucers is tame enough for young ones, but it’s also unpredictable and fun enough for adults. This colorful ride spins you in and out from all the other ‘spaceships’  and you never know how fast, or how much you will move around. But for those who might be concerned about motion and dizziness, no worries – for me it a far cry from the tea cups and it did not affect my dizziness. Imagine something similar to the tea cups, but without the spinning in place, but rather in a random pattern, and you’ve got a good idea of what to expect on Alien Swirling Saucers.

This ride is fun for all ages, but you must be over 32” tall and free of health issues to ride.

Be sure and say hello to Buzz as you enter, and then sit back and enjoy the ride! Joining the aliens as they swirl through space is a must for kids of all ages. For added fun, ride at night with all the lights and special effects!

Debbie and her husband live in Chattanooga, TN. They both are huge Disney fans and try to visit the most Magical Place on Earth at least once a year, if possible. They are enjoying taking each of their now 10 grandchildren and hope to also take their great granddaughter in the near future. One of their favorite trips has been visiting Disney with adults only, including one trip when their son proposed to his girlfriend. Each trip begins with the planning, which can take up to a year, beginning with how to get the grandkids excited about their upcoming trip. They have surprised some of them the day before they left, while the latest one had “presents” every 10 days starting at 90 days all leading up to an exciting trip with her parents along also. Their philosophy on Disney Trips? “Each trip is completely different, like visiting Walt Disney World for the first time.” They both enjoy all that Disney has to offer, but enjoy Animal Kingdom and EPCOT the most. It is their goal that everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a magical trip with lots of memories to last a life time.
