If you take even a brief tour of the Disney website you’ll find that there is something special that pops up fairly frequently — dessert parties. When I was first planning an adventure to Disney I only noticed two — what was then the Tomorrowland Terrace Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party and an Illuminations party. Since then, the number of parties available has exploded and virtually anywhere you are in the evening, there is a party getting ready to go.

So what are these parties and do they work for a family with special needs? Would a vegan, two super small eaters, two super big eaters, crowd-haters, and even a service dog find enough reasons to shell out the extra cash for these added experiences? Read more

Special Dining Needs at Disney: No Worries for Quick Service Meals

It gets hot and busy but that’s the perfect time to get a cool snack, or a cold drink and find a little shade to people watch from. When we plan our Disney vacations, advanced dining reservations are a must, especially when food allergies are involved. We usually make reservations for the bigger meals, either breakfast or dinner.   That doesn’t mean that we don’t get hungry during the day though! You don’t need reservations to be able to eat at the park: from the quick service spots to the vendor carts there are plenty of allergy friendly options. Read more

Have you heard the story about me breaking my foot carrying Avalon through EPCOT? Just kidding. True story, but I promised that we were going to get away from the upsetting stuff and start talking fun again, so that’s what we’re going to do.
