Exploring Universal Orlando’s CityWalk

Universal Orlando CityWalk is a dining, shopping, and entertainment district adjacent to the resort’s two theme parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida. The area is right between the two parks, which are only a ten minute walk from each other anyways, so it’s easy to throw in a visit to CityWalk while you’re visiting the parks. There’s plenty to do in the area, especially if you’re looking for nighttime entertainment.

A Nice Dinner Out: CityWalk has tons of dining options, no matter what you’re looking for. Try interpretations of Mexican street food at Antojitos or traditional Italian at Vivo Italian Kitchen. If you want something more casual, try Margaritaville. If your tastes are more quirky, try Cowfish. And if you love chocolate, desserts – or any type of food really – you do not want to miss The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium.

Grab a Bite: If you’re not looking for a lengthy sit-down meal and just want a quick bite, there are plenty of places to grab something delicious. Get fresh pizza at Red Oven Pizza Bakery, or a sandwich at Breadbox.

Shopping: CityWalk has many shops to explore, including plenty of apparel and souvenir shops. One of our favorites is the Universal Studios store with plenty of park merchandise – a convenient stop if you forgot to grab a gift for someone.

Night Clubs: If you’re looking for nightlife during your trip, you’ve got a lot of choices. Try the Cuban-Vegas-Polynesian combination of the Red Coconut Club, or the high energy of the groove. If you’re staying at an on-site Universal Orlando Resort hotel, you’ll receive a CityWalk Party Pass, good for hopping between the clubs. If you’re a karaoke fan, you’ll definitely love trying karaoke with a full band and back-up singers. At Rising Star, you can do just that.

Mini-Golf: Play a round or two at CityWalk’s fun Hollywood Drive-In Golf. Choose from the Haunting of Ghostly Greens or the Invaders from Planet Putt.

Blue Man Group: This unique show is part rock concert and part physical comedy show, and you’ll know how difficult it is to describe once you see it. It’s definitely a unique experience and worth a try if you haven’t seen it. Shows are available most nights throughout the year.
