Exploring Disney: Everybody’s Got a Laughin’ Place on Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain is one of the “mountains” of Magic Kingdom. This fun attraction takes you on a ride through a southern bayou where you may see your favorites such as Br’er Rabbit and Br’er Fox.  It will also send you plummeting down 5 stories into the briar patch, but don’t worry, you won’t get too wet – unless you are sitting in the front row, then you can get really wet!

Splash Mountain is for guests over 40”, and while it’s a mild thrill log ride it does have a few drops, including the “big” one at the end. I would not consider this a roller coaster at all, but the final drop can take your breath away. No matter what, be sure and smile because you will have your picture taken on the long drop at the end into the briar patch!

Each log holds up to 6-7 guests, so there will be plenty of room for your group! The back seat is a little wider than the other seats, which can accommodate 3 guests if needed. You must be able to transfer from scooter or wheelchair to ride.

As you drift along you can enjoy seeing all kinds of audio-animatronic animals such as alligators, raccoons and many others singing along to several Disney tunes including Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah and Ev’rybody’s Got a Laughing Place.

There is a play area nearby for those guests under 40” in their Laughing Place. All younger guests must be adult supervised, while waiting for the rest of the party.

Debbie and her husband live in Chattanooga, TN. They both are huge Disney fans and try to visit the most Magical Place on Earth at least once a year, if possible. They are enjoying taking each of their now 10 grandchildren and hope to also take their great granddaughter in the near future. One of their favorite trips has been visiting Disney with adults only, including one trip when their son proposed to his girlfriend. Each trip begins with the planning, which can take up to a year, beginning with how to get the grandkids excited about their upcoming trip. They have surprised some of them the day before they left, while the latest one had “presents” every 10 days starting at 90 days all leading up to an exciting trip with her parents along also. Their philosophy on Disney Trips? “Each trip is completely different, like visiting Walt Disney World for the first time.” They both enjoy all that Disney has to offer, but enjoy Animal Kingdom and EPCOT the most. It is their goal that everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a magical trip with lots of memories to last a life time.
