Disney with Kids: A Joffrey’s Coffee Break for Everyone

I have had six separate friends contact me in the past couple of weeks about Disney trips they’ve already planned or are intending to plan in the upcoming months. With everything going on at Walt Disney World these days, it’s no wonder so many families are gearing up to experience the magic themselves.

I’m not here to talk about rumors or new attractions today, however. When I am asked for a list of foods or experiences that are considered a “must-do” by fellow Disney goers, I rattle off all the most popular fast passes and dining experiences and try to persuade them to make time to see my personal favorite nighttime show, Fantasmic. Before the conversation is over though, I make sure to tell them about … mmm, coffee.

Huh? What does coffee have to do with planning a trip to Walt Disney World? Well, this isn’t just any coffee. This is Joffrey’s iced and frozen coffee! I don’t like my coffee black or unsweetened ever and when I’m in central Florida, I sure don’t want it to be hot. I love a creamy, cold, and delicious Starbucks beverage as much as the next mom when I’m here at home in the Midwest, but when I go to Disney World, Joffrey’s is something I crave and allow myself to indulge in while on property… possibly several times while on property. There are multiple Joffrey’s locations around the theme parks and at Disney Springs. Joffrey’s also offers hot coffee, tropical fruit smoothies, alcoholic beverages, hot chocolate, tea, and pastries.

I look forward to frozen Cappuccinos and flavored iced coffees – especially the Shakin’ Jamaican (pictured above) from Disney Springs. The kiosk is right next to the LEGO store so while my husband and boys are checking out all the new sets, I sneak over to Joffrey’s and treat myself a big tall cup of heaven. If I’m feeling extra generous, I might even get the kids a Purple Piñata smoothie or donut.

The Shakin’ Jamaican is “cold brew coffee with hints of caramel and vanilla, served on ice” and doesn’t cost any more than a Starbucks iced beverage. Next time you’re there and need an energy boost (or just a sweet treat), please give this treat a try! The Shakin’ Jamaican is also available frozen, with alcohol.

If you love coffee and you’re still reading, here’s a valuable tip. The packet of information we receive from the front desk at the time of check-in has always included multiple coupons that are good on services and merchandise around Walt Disney World. One of the coupons is good for 20% off at Joffrey’s and is reusable! Be sure to check it out for this coupon and other great deals.

Have you tried Joffrey’s coffee? What’s your favorite Joffrey’s treat?

Candice was raised in east Tennessee. While in college, her best friend dragged her to a Walt Disney World College Program recruiting session at the University of Tennessee and the rest is Disney history. In the Fall of 1999, Candice became a quick service food hostess for Sunset Ranch Market and Fantasmic at Disney-MGM Studios – or what is now known as Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While soaking up her time as a cast member, she met Ryan, a neighbor and a fellow college programmer who worked as a custodial host at Epcot. Four years later, Candice moved to the Midwest and married that boy from across the hall. They now live in Greenwood, Indiana with their two little boys. The Disney-loving foursome took their first family trip to The Happiest Place on Earth in 2013 and Candice is eagerly planning their return. Candice also works full-time at a community mental health center and enjoys taking photographs and blogging at Mommy in the Midwest.
