Terrific Tuesdays: Nighttime Epcot

No matter how many times you visit EPCOT, for me, seeing it at night is a whole new experience. Disney does such a great job changing the atmosphere from the day light hours to the night time hours. During the day, everything is visible, everything is bright and cheery, but at night things become cozier, more romantic, more exotic, more exciting. This is especially true at EPCOT, and as you see Space Ship Earth in the dark towering above the entrance glowing with such vivid lights, it just takes my breath away every time. Read more

Disney with Special Needs Parks Breakdown: Surviving Main Street U.S.A.

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about getting ready for a trip to Disney. We’ve talked about picking the right resort, packing, and even planning ahead for what to expect by watching videos online. We’ve also gone over some coping mechanisms for dealing with special needs once you hit the parks. Most of those coping mechanisms, however, are fairly general. When thinking back on my last trip (and the one before that, and the one before that…let’s be honest, just every time that I’ve been), though, I realized that I have different needs for different parts of the park.

Disney with Little Ones: Don’t Fear That Road Trip

Having a couple of  boys, I get a little anxious if travel plans don’t go as smoothly as anticipated. Patience at these ages (okay, mine too) only lasts so long and car rides become really miserable for everyone when young children are unhappy or bored. Not so long ago we hesitantly made the decision to drive from Indiana to the Florida panhandle – a total of 11 hours drive time in normal traffic. Although this is still several hours from Disney World, I discovered that with some preparation, a lengthy drive is completely manageable. The experience gave me enough confidence to know that if we drive to Disney World for our next magical vacation, we will survive. Read more
