Disney with Little Ones: The School Struggle

13662167_10102244004419224_8779736423025481266_oIn a few days, my youngest son will begin Kindergarten and his big brother starts 1st grade. We’ve been to Disney World with our sons two times so far and both trips were while they were in pre-school. I felt guilty for them missing school then, and now I am really struggling with making this decision about if or when I should pull them out of elementary school for our next Disney vacation.  Read more

Disney with Little Ones: When Sickness Strikes

12778922_10102026976599714_660189367928462412_oUnfortunately, this article was inspired by real – life, real – time events. A good friend of mine is currently at Port Orleans Riverside with a very sick little boy on his 3rd birthday. He started feeling a little under the weather 2 days ago but today he became lethargic and hot so mom and dad rushed him to immediate care. They walked away with a bunch of medicine and a pneumonia diagnosis. Naturally, this made me sad because they haven’t been able to fully enjoy their first family Disney World vacation experience.  Read more

12710786_10102010119820834_8807873456292254306_oI had never been to Disney during the Springtime until last May. I completed my College Program in the fall and had taken vacations there in the fall or in February during the slow(er) season. We decided to plan around my birthday, my son’s 4th birthday, Mother’s Day, and as luck would have it, the Flower & Garden Festival was taking place during this time as well. Having experienced the Food & Wine Festival on previous occasions, I was excited for another trip around the world showcase full of new experiences. Read more

Disney with Little Ones: How Old is Too Old For a Stroller?

1097189_10101937237682224_7397468992761235270_oMy children have been to Walt Disney World two times so far: at ages 2 and 3 and again at 4 and 5. When we go back, they’ll be…you guessed it… ages 6 and 7. In planning our previous trips, the strollers were a no brainer but 6 and 7 year olds might look a little ridiculous in strollers that were intended for toddlers. My kids no longer use a stroller any other time – we don’t use it because they are lazy. Long days in the parks can be taxing on short little legs. The boys did their fair share of walking last time, but when they’d start to get grumpy, I was more than happy to chauffer them around in their multi-purpose strollers. Read more

Disney with Little Ones: So Worth the Wait

12232819_10101907638264694_6412346602166058751_oI’m as much of a kid as anyone and I’ve always enjoyed doing character greetings. I’ve never requested an autograph but would jump at the chance to have my photograph taken with Ariel, Belle, Sully, or other favorites as a keepsake memory from various vacations. I’ll even admit that I’ve felt a little starstruck at times when meeting face characters, not quite sure what to say or how to have a memorable interaction. With all of that being said, I’ve never voluntarily waited in a long line to meet any character.  Read more
