Since it’s Valentine’s Day week, there isn’t a better time to talk about romance and travel. Whether you’ve got a special anniversary to commemorate, a honeymoon to plan, or you just want a romantic getaway with your partner, spending time away from the day-to-day with your love is a wonderful way to reconnect.
But where do you want to go? Choosing the right destination for the both of you is important because everyone is different – and everyone’s idea of romantic is different! A lot of people will tell you to head to a tropical beach, with sun, sand, and fruity drinks – but what if that’s not your thing? What about a cabin in the mountains? Sounds peaceful – but maybe you aren’t looking for peaceful. Maybe a skiing vacation? But what if you don’t like snow…
Maybe you’re looking for fun. And some thrills. Great food, and a variety of activities.
Maybe, a theme park vacation might be the perfect place for you to share some romantic time with your love.
While the popular consensus is that theme park destinations like Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort are for kids, the reality is that both are extremely popular for adults-only vacations and in fact, are frequently the locations chosen for weddings, honeymoons, and special anniversary trips. Now of course, if you are looking for peace, quiet, and no children on your romantic getaway, then clearly this is not the trip for you! But, if you want to balance having tons of fun with more than a few special “adult” activities, then it may be that the perfect vacation for you and your love may be a place like the Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Orlando Resort!
Let’s start with the hotel. Both the Disney and Universal resort properties offer some truly luxurious deluxe hotels that will make you feel pampered from the minute you arrive. Spacious rooms with tons of special touches and fabulous pools, along with way more fine dining options than you might expect. In fact, Walt Disney World especially has several 5-star gourmet restaurants that will satisfy any couple that enjoys special cuisine. And the deluxe hotels all feature some incredible theming that are perfect for a romantic walk, enjoying beautiful grounds, ponds, lakes, and fascinating details. You’ll even have access to some special pampering time, with several spas on property. And if you are a golfing couple, they’ve got that too. Add in things like evening boat rides, or special carriage rides, and there are more than a few ways to spend some special romantic times with your love – and you haven’t even entered a theme park yet!
Of course, you may want to enjoy the theme parks too. And surprisingly, there are lots of ways to find special romantic moments here too, with more fabulous dining (Epcot is a special favorite here, for its numerous and varied restaurants in addition to several incredible festivals throughout the year), and some unexpected “off-the-beaten-paths” to explore. And of course, for the couple that are truly kids at heart, there’s plenty of fun rides and attractions that are guaranteed to make you both smile your way through your vacation.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s to traveling with your love!
