Exploring Disney: Canada Far and Wide

Oh Canada! What a lovely and fascinating country you are! Whether you have visited many times, or have always wanted to visit, the new movie “Canada Far and Wide” in Epcot’s World Showcase will provide you with a true appreciation for this lovely country. (And if you already live in Canada – lucky you!)

This 11-minute movie in Circle Vision 360 is definitely a hidden gem. Many people when exploring the Canada area, never wander wander far enough into the back to realize where the entrance to the theater is located. While the Canada pavilion is known for the awesome food at Le Cellier, take a little time to check out the lovely gardens in this area as well. When you do, follow the path back to the majestic waterfalls and river and you’ll discover a cave entrance – and you’ve found the movie! Take a few minutes to watch while you’re there, you’ll be glad you did.

While many are familiar with the previous movie “O Canada”, the beautiful “Canada Far and Wide” replaced it in January 2020. Happily, the new movie still includes one of Canada’s favorite citizens Martin Short. And he does a great job showing off his home country from the east coast to the west coast with new scenes (as well as his sense of humor). Similar to O Canada, you will see Montreal, Quebec, Calgary, Vancouver and Canada’s capital, Ottawa, as well as the diversity of the land as well as the people. “Canada Far and Wide” does a wonderful job of showing how Canada has continued to be a cultural mosaic, where different languages and traditions continue – yet still looking ahead to the future.

You will stand during this movie, which allows you to see all around you  – and take advantage of being able to do that if you can, it’s truly breathtaking. Just as in other Circle-Vision Movies, there are lean bars to help steady you, if needed.

This attraction is recommended for guests of all ages and heights and is definitely a must do on my list!

Debbie and her husband live in Chattanooga, TN. They both are huge Disney fans and try to visit the most Magical Place on Earth at least once a year, if possible. They are enjoying taking each of their now 10 grandchildren and hope to also take their great granddaughter in the near future. One of their favorite trips has been visiting Disney with adults only, including one trip when their son proposed to his girlfriend. Each trip begins with the planning, which can take up to a year, beginning with how to get the grandkids excited about their upcoming trip. They have surprised some of them the day before they left, while the latest one had “presents” every 10 days starting at 90 days all leading up to an exciting trip with her parents along also. Their philosophy on Disney Trips? “Each trip is completely different, like visiting Walt Disney World for the first time.” They both enjoy all that Disney has to offer, but enjoy Animal Kingdom and EPCOT the most. It is their goal that everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a magical trip with lots of memories to last a life time.
