Editor’s Note: As the United States has recently inaugurated Joe Biden as the 46th U.S. President, the Hall of Presidents is now closed and will reopen when President Biden has been added to the attraction. In the meantime, enjoy exploring what makes this a true Disney classic!

We visited Hall of Presidents during our last trip and we realized that it had been quite a while since our last visit, as we had not seen either President Barack Obama or President Donald Trump previously. It was interesting to see how the attraction had changed since our last time.

When you enter the Hall of Presidents, you walk into the “pre-show” where you have the chance to explore some exhibits and pictures of past presidents. Since we visited during the pandemic, they have installed big dots on the floor so that groups are able to socially distance. As this restricted us a bit in seeing everything, I’d recommend coming inside the building right after the previous show begins, so that you have us a little more time to explore before others came in.

The huge theater holds a lot of people, but they had it nicely marked so that social distancing continued inside. The show starts with a Disney original film on how our great country was founded and the government established. Visitors will have the chance to learn about how the Constitution was written and the struggles the American founding fathers went through to start this new nation. It’s a wonderful way for kids especially to get a glimpse into history in a very realistic way!

You will hear the moving words of John F. Kennedy in the background and watch Abraham Lincoln deliver his famous Gettysburg address. Regardless of political affiliation, I found being in the presence of past presidents definitely brought out the warm and fuzzy feeling of being an American.

Eventually there is a roll call and each president responds, by nodding or even standing up. President George Washington delivers a speech and the show ends with some inspiring words from the current president.

This 25 minute show is worth seeing, if for nothing else, the amazing experience of this many Audio-Animatronics – you truly feel that all the presidents are alive and in front of you. A true lover of American history, it was Walt’s wish to have Walt Disney Imagineering bring the American presidents “to life” and I would say, “mission accomplished”.

Debbie and her husband live in Chattanooga, TN. They both are huge Disney fans and try to visit the most Magical Place on Earth at least once a year, if possible. They are enjoying taking each of their now 10 grandchildren and hope to also take their great granddaughter in the near future. One of their favorite trips has been visiting Disney with adults only, including one trip when their son proposed to his girlfriend. Each trip begins with the planning, which can take up to a year, beginning with how to get the grandkids excited about their upcoming trip. They have surprised some of them the day before they left, while the latest one had “presents” every 10 days starting at 90 days all leading up to an exciting trip with her parents along also. Their philosophy on Disney Trips? “Each trip is completely different, like visiting Walt Disney World for the first time.” They both enjoy all that Disney has to offer, but enjoy Animal Kingdom and EPCOT the most. It is their goal that everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a magical trip with lots of memories to last a life time.
