Celebrating Fall at the Disney Parks

Kids are back in school (or will be soon), the leaves are just waiting to turn colors, and lazy summer days are a hazy memory (if they aren’t already). This means just one thing – it’s (almost) fall y’all. And no one celebrates this season better than the Disney parks! Here’s a peek at what to expect at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in California this autumn.

Walt Disney World – Magic Kingdom: Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

With spellbinding entertainment, favorite Disney characters dressed in their Halloween best and more, you can celebrate the most haunting time of the year at Walt Disney World Resort, during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This limited-capacity, nighttime special event starts at 7 p.m. on select nights through November 1, and allows guests to experience shorter wait times on attractions, themed food and beverage, and of course, some not-so-scary fun!

  • Watch a Ghostly Promenade with “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade” – It’s good to be bad, and your favorite Disney villains are back to stride down Main Street, U.S.A., alongside Disney heroes, the iconic Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers and other favorite characters.
  • Get the Party Startled With “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” – The Pumpkin King, a.k.a. Jack Skellington, will once again host the must-see nighttime spectacular, “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.” Featuring projections, special effects and lighting paired with fireworks, music and iconic Disney characters.
  • Trick-or-Treat Yourself to Candy and Sweets – M&M’S, SKITTLES, and SNICKERS, OH MY! Guests (of all ages) can satisfy their sweet tooth at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party by stopping by trick-or-treating locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park.
  • See a Spellbinding Spectacle with the Sanderson Sisters – The Sanderson Sisters, stars of the iconic “Hocus Pocus” films, will unite for an adventure and call on their comrades to summon the ultimate “Hocus Pocus” Party Potion during the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” stage show at Cinderella Castle.

And of course, you can experience your favorite attractions during the party – with shorter wait times!

Walt Disney World – EPCOT: International Food and Wine Festival

EPCOT’s most popular festival is back, through November 18, with all kinds of deliciousness to experience – along with great entertainment and fun for the entire family!

  • Sip and Savor at Global Marketplaces – It’s truly the most delicious time of the year, as Guests can enjoy food at more than 25 Global Marketplaces – plus four brand new locations! Enjoy savory bites at Char & Chop, pair wine with artisanal cheeses at Wine & Wedge, or snack on champagne and seafood at Bubbles & Brine, and satisfy your sweet tooth at Swirled Showcase, featuring soft-serve ice cream and refreshing sips. All four new Global Marketplaces will open Sept 22.
  • Fun activities for the whole family – Fans of fromage can take part in Emile’s Fromage Montage, a fun way to try tasty cheese dishes from around the world. Grab your Festival Passport and purchase any five cheese dishes listed in the back of the Festival Passport to collect a stamp and a treat once you have all five. Or embark on Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak – a “Ratatouille”-inspired adventure that’s fun for everyone! Guests of all ages can search for Remy throughout World Showcase and the Global Marketplaces. And be sure to celebrate the Halloween season, in Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit, a special pumpkin scavenger hunt from September 29 through October 31.
  • Eat to the Beat Concert Series – Enjoy local bands and well-known acts from through Nov. 13, featuring the talent of Funkafied, Phillip Phillips, Boyz II Men, Sugar Ray and so many more. With 3 showtimes each night there’s plenty of time to hear your favorites at America Gardens. Be advised that national acts are only available Fridays through Mondays – on Tuesdays through Thursdays, you can jam with some great local bands!

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure – Halloween Time

Not to be outdone by its East Coast younger cousin, Halloween Time casts its colorful charm throughout Disneyland Resort through October 31. Featuring family-friendly experiences with transformed attractions, characters in new seasonal looks, themed décor, delicious treats and eats, and more, fall is a guaranteed good time for all ages at the Disneyland Resort!

  • Haunted Mansion Holiday returns – At Disneyland park, this frightfully festive transformation inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a true fan-favorite, and this year’s all-new original design features some mischievous cookies who have stolen their way into Sandy Claws’ festivities in the ballroom.
  • “Halloween Screams” – Held each night in Disneyland park through Oct. 31, this is an eerily extraordinary experience in the form of a not-so-frightful projection and special effects show that takes to the skies to enhance the spirited illuminations with fireworks.
  • Family-friendly fun at “Radiator Screams” – In Disney California Adventure park, visitors will find Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz and Red greeting guests in their Halloween finest, as two favorite attractions rev up the Halloween spirit with seasonal transformations of Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark– Visitors to Avengers Campus will find Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! transforming into this Halloween adventure in the late afternoons each day during the season, with a mix of creepy creatures and thrilling drops.
  • Plaza de la Familia – In Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure, the Disney and Pixar film “Coco” comes to life, with an immersive celebration honoring the everlasting bonds of family. The festivities include live entertainment, specialty foods, crafts and interactive experiences – including “A Musical Celebration of Coco”.

Mickey and his best pals are just waiting to welcome you to the Disney parks this fall, with tons of (not really) frightful fun, delicious food, and family-friendly entertainment!
