One of my favorite moderate hotels at Walt Disney World is Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. The smallest of the moderates, this resort, as the name implies, is themed like the French Quarter of New Orleans with lots of colorful Mardi Gras-style touches. Disney Learning at Home
With everything going on in the world these days, it’s an understatement to say that we’ve all had to make some adjustments and likely experienced our fair share of disappointments. From cancelled vacations to postponed celebrations and everything in between, we’re all adapting to this pandemic in one way or another. Personally, I’ve postponed what was supposed to be my first kid-free (since having kids) trip to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate a milestone birthday. In the meantime, I’ve also transitioned from a full-time professional who worked outside of the home to temporarily being a full-time stay-at-home mom, teacher, lunch lady, and more.
During this strange season of life, we are learning how to become remote learners and teachers. Thank goodness for the internet, which has an endless supply of ideas to entertain, engage, and educate young students. Rumor has it! Did you hear the news that Walt Disney World…….<fill in the blank>…..???
It was only a matter of time – with both the Disney and Universal theme parks in Florida and California closed, and Disney cruises (along with most other cruise lines) cancelling departures – before the internet rumor mill would get cranked up. In the early stages of the pandemic, there was actual news to report, with closings, delays, and cancellations happening every day it seemed. Now, after 6 weeks of “stay at home” orders for most of us, and especially as some states begin to figure out how “opening up” looks, the rumor mill is going like gangbusters. Read more
