Splash Mountain is one of those rides that you really wonder, should I do a FastPass or take my chances! To me – get the FastPass! I try to make this one an early morning ride, so if by chance I do get splashed, I can dry out. It is so much fun and takes you back to the lovable characters of Song of the South. I dare you not to sing along.
As you enter the queue and walk along the mountain path, you start to think about what this ride is all about. In a nut-shell – it is all about Brer-Rabbit and friends. The songs and the characters are from the classic Disney movie, Song of the South. You will float through the bayou in your hollowed-out log listening to fun characters singing along as Brer Rabbit searches for his “laughing” place. They are also on the hunt for a roaming rabbit and will pull out all the stops to find him.
Beware, while there is a final 5-story drop of which you will probably get wet, there are several banked areas and other smaller drops along the way. A few of the smaller drops will take you by surprise! As many times, as I have ridden this, I find new things to see each time.
Where you sit on this ride (as well as the total weight of everyone in the log) can determine how wet you will get! This ride has a height requirement of 40”, but there is a play area near the exit for those too small to join Brer Rabbit!
