I have mentioned in the past that one of my favorite “hidden” spots at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is The Writer’s Stop….a place that I love to go for a little peace and quiet while at the parks (yes, it IS possible to do that!). At risk of sharing my little secret with the rest of the “world”, and thereby destroying said peace and quiet, I thought I would give you a glimpse today into this little gem…..with the condition that you won’t go and blab about it to thousands of your best friends. We’ll keep it our little secret, ok?? 🙂 Read more

Terrific Tuesdays: Disney’s Hollywood Studios Street Shows
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a place for performances. There are live stage shows, such as Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, parades like Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun, the Fantasmic! evening fireworks display, and then there are the street shows. The big interactive street show is the Disney Channel Rocks show.
There are, however, all around the park, smaller interactive shows put on the the Citizens of Hollywood. These can be seen at various times throughout the day, usually on Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. Read more
Quiet Spots at Disney World: Where to go When You Need a Break
Finding peace and quiet at Walt Disney World….sounds like “mission impossible” doesn’t it? Disney is many things, but for the majority of the day, the busy-ness and excitement of the resorts and theme parks create an energy….and the noise level to go along with it….that is the complete opposite of peaceful, or quiet.
Still, there are times during your Disney vacation, when that is just what you are going to need. You may have little ones that just won’t nap with distractions. Perhaps you are the one that wants a quiet place to relax and unwind for a few minutes. Or maybe you just want to sit and relax in a nice cool place and get out of the sun. Whatever the reason, this is something that everyone will go looking for at one point on their trip. Where do you go?
Terrific Tuesdays: Fantastic Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is one of my favorite night time fireworks shows at Walt Disney World. This show is located at the end of Sunset Blvd. in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The 6,900 seat amphitheater is made of metal benches and has two shows a night on select evenings. Be warned that sitting near the front could get you wet. There are fireworks, water effects, live characters, cannon explosions and balls of fire. The water effects show scenes from the movie Fantasia on large water curtains. Characters display scenes from popular Disney movies, like Pocahontas, and show the battle of good vs. evil. Read more
