Wordless Wednesday: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

While all the news at Hollywood Studios is Star Wars or Toy Story related these days, don’t forget that there are some GREAT rides and attractions that are neither. A true classic, and one of the most popular rides is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Here you grab a limo on your way to a concert with the band…and hope you make it there in time!

Karen grew up in the Boston area and traveled to Disney World many times with her parents and sister. Always staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins gave the trips a feeling of a home away from home. It also started the tradition of attending the Hoop Dee Doo Review on each trip! Somehow that show sparked her interest in the Disney College Program. Which she did in the fall of 2002, working as a hostess @ Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney. Now as an adult, Karen finds herself traveling to the parks on a yearly basis! Photography has always been a hobby of Karen’s, but over the past few years it has become her passion. It’s even taken her to her favorite place! The Make a Wish Foundation sent a family to Disney for a week and Karen was lucky enough to be their photographer of choice! She got to tag along and photograph their memories being made. She hopes to get that experience again someday!

Wordless Wednesday: Waiting in Line Can be Fun!

One of the many things that Disney does well, in my opinion, is helping their guests forget that they are waiting in line. While no one really wants to wait in line, when the queue is so much fun as it is for Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios….waiting in line kind of becomes part of the attraction. This is the perfect place to relive childhood memories with all of those favorite toys and games! What a great walk down memory lane! Read more

Wordless Wednesday: May the Force be With You

IMG_1382While Disney is just starting on the new Star Wars land in Hollywood Studios, if you are a Star Wars fan, you can still visit a galaxy far, far away at Star Wars Launch Bay. This fun area has a number of exhibits related to the current and previous Star Wars movies, games and the chance to meet with some favorite characters from the movie: Chewbacca and Darth Vader were there when I visited in December, and recently Kylo Ren is now making appearances. Light sabers are optional. Wordless Wednesday: An Icon for Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

photo (1)Now that the giant Sorcerer’s Hat has been removed as the focal point of Hollywood Studios, and the older more traditional “Earful Tower” is leaving as well, there has been a lot of discussion about what the new “icon” for Hollywood Studios will be! After all, Magic Kingdom has a Castle, Epcot has Spaceship Earth and Animal Kingdom has the Tree of Life….so will the Great Movie Ride become the new symbol of Hollywood Studios? Or is something else, still unknown, on the way? Guess we will have to wait and see!

Wordless Wednesday: Osborne Family Lights are Indeed a Spectacle

1003148_10153037831945508_1536301587_n

I’m just a few days from my next visit to Walt Disney World and of the MANY things I am looking forward to, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights are at the top of my list. Partly because this is the last year for them at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and partly because they are honestly, truly amazing in every way possible. Pictures do not do this *spectacle* justice: I honestly have never seen as many lights in one place EVER.  Read more
