I’ve made my way out of Tomorrowland and skirted around the back past the Tomorrowland Speedway and behind the Mad Tea Party on my way to New Fantasyland. Speaking of which — do you ever wonder if they will ever stop calling it “New” Fantasyland and the entire area will just morph into one cohesive “Fantasyland”, or if it will stay this way and be like a New York/New Hampshire/New Mexico type situation? Disney with Special Needs Parks Breakdown: Surviving Main Street U.S.A.

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about getting ready for a trip to Disney. We’ve talked about picking the right resort, packing, and even planning ahead for what to expect by watching videos online. We’ve also gone over some coping mechanisms for dealing with special needs once you hit the parks. Most of those coping mechanisms, however, are fairly general. When thinking back on my last trip (and the one before that, and the one before that…let’s be honest, just every time that I’ve been), though, I realized that I have different needs for different parts of the park.

Terrific Tuesdays: Main Street USA

Most people who enter Magic Kingdom from under the railroad station are so excited to be looking for Cinderella Castle, that they walk by some of the most interesting buildings that Magic Kingdom has to offer in Town Square and Main Street USA. Here you will find Main Street Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, Firehouse Gift Station, Town Square Theater and Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, before heading down Main Street itself. Read more

Wordless Wednesday: A Castle Park

Disney completed a redesign of the Cinderella Castle “hub” area last year and it is a lovely addition to this part of Magic Kingdom. A very park-like setting with grass, walkways and benches scattered throughout, this area provides a great place to relax and unwind on a busy day, as well as a great location to view Wishes and the Celebrate the Magic castle projection show.
