Exploring Disney: Going on a Safari

One of my must do’s in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Kilimanjaro Safari which is located in the Africa section of the park. On this ride, you’ll set off in an open-air vehicle for a guided tour of an African savanna—and have the chance to spot all kinds of live animals roaming free! Read more

Exploring Disney: Soaring With a Banshee on a Flight of Passage

While I had heard so much about Avatar Flight of Passage and how incredible of a ride it was, before riding it the first time I was still a little apprehensive about what to expect. But if my 8 year old granddaughter was riding, I couldn’t say no, could I? And I have to say that afterwards, I was SO surprised, not only by the incredible queue and the details as you walked through, but the ride itself lived up to the hype. I honestly thought I was transporting to the land of Pandora and beginning my journey to becoming a Na’vi hunter. Read more

Disney with Little Ones: Pandora – The World of Avatar

Our family visited the Walt Disney World Resort this fall and I think we were all most excited and anxious to visit Animal Kingdom. I was personally really excited for the extended hours  – Animal Kingdom used to close in the late afternoon/early evening but in September the park was open until 9pm. Thursday Thoughts: Planning for Pandora – The World of Avatar

Last month, I shared a glimpse into Disney’s new “land” at Animal Kingdom: Pandora – The World of Avatar. This new area opened to the public this past weekend, with lines just to get into the area (not even for a ride) that stretched for hours. The lines for the new rides – Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey – each were well over 3 hours at times on Saturday. And while the “newness” of this area will wear off a bit in the coming weeks (combined with more typical park attendance, as opposed to a busy holiday weekend), suffice it to say that planning your time at Animal Kingdom is going to change dramatically with this new area to explore.

With this in mind, I thought I would share this week, a few quick thoughts about what I am recommending to those visiting Animal Kingdom in the coming months.  Read more
