Cast Member’s Corner: Let The Magical Memories Begin

I’m getting ready to go down to Disney in a little less than two weeks.  I’m always excited to go down to Disney, my second home, but this time it will be a little different.  I’m especially excited to be going down this time because I will be taking my boyfriend down with me, who hasn’t been down to Disney since he was young and doesn’t seem to remember much of it beyond Space Mountain.  I wanted to do what he wanted to do while we were there so I asked him to try and plan it.  So of course when I asked what I should write about in Cast Member’s Corner he said, “What to do at Disney for someone who’s going for the first time as an adult.”  I figured now would be a good time to give in and write that topic since he has already pretty much planned it out. A Disney Trip of Fun, Food, and Friends

Last weekend I was thrilled to have the chance to be in Walt Disney World. It was a different kind of trip, as I was there with some of the wonderful folks who write for The Affordable Mouse, along with some other great Disney friends. And what a great time we had! It was the opening weekend of the Food and Wine Festival, and the celebration of Epcot’s 30th anniversary. It also gave me the chance to see what’s new with the Fantasyland expansion….and to see what is coming too! 🙂

So today, I thought I would share a few of the photo highlights of my trip! Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Affordable Snacks in Magic Kingdom

Whether you chose the dining plan for your trip or not, sometimes you need to spend a little money for an extra snack (or two, if you are like my family and have a hubs & a kid who are ALWAYS hungry!)  I like to look around each time I am in Walt Disney World and check prices and make a mental note of where to buy our snacks, because prices vary from place to place and I like to be smart about what we pay for.  There are reasonably priced snacks hidden all over, amongst all the “I-am-not-paying-that-much-for-that!” type snacks 🙂  To me, any “snack” that costs over $5 seems too expensive, and even paying $4.99 doesn’t seem great to me, but that’s how I figure out if we should get it or not.  If one of us wants a snack, I’ll say, “as long as it’s under $5 :)” Read more
