Last time we read of the thrills and excitement experienced while riding on Kali River Rapids.  Well, this attraction is nothing near the thrill ride of Kali, but it is just as exciting!  Number six on my kids’ top 10 most fun things to do at Walt Disney World is meeting characters.  You can accomplish this in several different ways and in lots of different places.  Each park has certain characters in certain places through out the day.  Always check with guest relations at each park to verify the exact time and place of character appearances. We’re Having a Birthday…and Celebrating with Disney Giveaways!

A little over two years ago, I had the crazy idea to start a blog about Walt Disney World. A number of things contributed to this, but the main reasons were probably a couple of questions that I get asked a lot:

  • “Why do you go to Disney World all the time? Don’t you get tired of it?”
  • “How do you afford to go to Disney World so often?”

Having a friend who knew all about blogs and such, I was encouraged to share my love for the Mouse and my desire to answer those questions, by starting a little blog of my own. First hosted over on Blogger.com, I quickly realized all the things that my little site could do and be, so before long I made the decision to become a “grown-up” website and www.theaffordablemouse.com was born. Disney Gift Giving: Belinda’s Wish List

One of my most favorite holidays of the year is fast approaching… Christmas. I love everything about it; the sights, the sounds, the music, the decorations and of course the fresh baked treats coming from the kitchen. I just love Christmas and the magic it brings to our home.  For me the magic of Christmas comes from the love of Disney that my husband and I share. Our home is filled with the sights and sounds of all things Disney; from the decorations abound to the Disney village that adorns our mantle. It is such an emotional and meaningful time of year and nothing makes it better than by being surrounded by Mickey and Minnie. Read more

Karen grew up in the Boston area and traveled to Disney World many times with her parents and sister. Always staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins gave the trips a feeling of a home away from home. It also started the tradition of attending the Hoop Dee Doo Review on each trip! Somehow that show sparked her interest in the Disney College Program. Which she did in the fall of 2002, working as a hostess @ Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney. Now as an adult, Karen finds herself traveling to the parks on a yearly basis! Photography has always been a hobby of Karen’s, but over the past few years it has become her passion. It’s even taken her to her favorite place! The Make a Wish Foundation sent a family to Disney for a week and Karen was lucky enough to be their photographer of choice! She got to tag along and photograph their memories being made. She hopes to get that experience again someday! You can find more of Karen’s photography on her site www.KPportraits.com.
