Celebrating a Disney Birthday….and Paying it Forward

Just over three years ago I had this crazy idea to start a blog about Disney World….because I love to write and love Disney World more. At that time, who would have ever thought that my little blog would introduce me to thousands of “Disney Friends”, and ultimately open the door to being able to follow my dream of becoming a Disney travel agent! Some days I have to pinch myself when I think about working at something that I truly love, and having the honor and privilege of being able to assist hundreds of folks in creating magical Disney vacations….

So this is a very special time of the year for me, as I have the opportunity to celebrate this birthday, just when the Holiday Season gets underway. It seems appropriate somehow to celebrate something that gives joy to others, during this Season of Joy.

With that in mind, I am marking this birthday in two very special ways….and I hope that you will share in the celebration with me. Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Affordable Snacks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Last but certainly not least, we need to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience their tasty but cheapy snacks!  Hollywood Studios is just plain FUN.  Lots of shows, a few of my absolute favorite rides (ahem…Rock n Roll and Toy Story!) and while we are running back and forth through the park we work up quite an appetite.  This park is quite small, and while they have a handful of the snack kiosks around the park like all other parks, there aren’t as many snack choices here.  Read more

Wordless Wednesday: An Alternative to Disney Thrills

If you’re not into the thrills of Space Mountain or Tower of Terror, the teacups in Fantasyland are a great alternative! And if you don’t like riding the teacups, then enjoy walking around and taking in the scenery.

Find out how the FREE services of a Disney World travel agent can make planning your Disney vacation simple and stress-free!  And during the month of December, YOUR vacation can help one of 8 wonderful charities! Ask me how!

Karen grew up in the Boston area and traveled to Disney World many times with her parents and sister. Always staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins gave the trips a feeling of a home away from home. It also started the tradition of attending the Hoop Dee Doo Review on each trip! Somehow that show sparked her interest in the Disney College Program. Which she did in the fall of 2002, working as a hostess @ Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney. Now as an adult, Karen finds herself traveling to the parks on a yearly basis! Photography has always been a hobby of Karen’s, but over the past few years it has become her passion. It’s even taken her to her favorite place! The Make a Wish Foundation sent a family to Disney for a week and Karen was lucky enough to be their photographer of choice! She got to tag along and photograph their memories being made. She hopes to get that experience again someday! You can find more of Karen’s photography on her site www.KPportraits.com.
