Many folks (including myself) have found Disney’s “Let the Memories Begin” promotion this year to be a touching way to celebrate something that we all….Disney veteran or first-timer….associate with a Disney vacation: the opportunity to create special, lasting memories with those we love. Few things are more precious…or priceless….than these moments we share with family and friends on a Disney vacation.

I bring this up because, I am getting ready to leave for vacation next week, and while I wish I could say that we were going to be traveling to Walt Disney World, I am still excited nonetheless to have a chance to unwind at the beach for an entire week. Now, those of you who have been regular readers of The Affordable Mouse for a while, know that when I go on vacation, I like to bring you guys back a souvenir or two as giveaways. 🙂 And as I talked about this with our wonderful writers, we thought it might be fun to tie my vacation giveaway for you into some fun and games as well, all celebrating what Disney does best…create memories.

Everyone has their favorite ride or attraction at Walt Disney World…that one ride that you can go on over and over and over again, and never get tired of it. The ride that just makes you smile, and instantly takes you to your “happy place” when you think about it, even though you may be thousands of miles away.

That ride for me is Soarin’. 🙂

Happy Father’s Day to all the Disney Dads! Hope you have a truly magical day! Now, from The Affordable Mouse to you, here is our weekly round-up of favorite Disney blog posts to add to your special day.

While there is so much helpful information on Chip and Co. these 3 posts caught my eye this week. First, “our” Brenda’s weekly Wednesday with Walt series is always a favorite of mine. A year ago we were planning a vacation to Disney’s Hilton Head Island, and while we aren’t going there this year, I thought I would share one of my favorite photographs from this lovely place. This is a beautiful, serene place to relax and unwind from it all…yet it still has that “Disney magic” too. The best of both worlds. Visit sometime if you can: you won’t want to leave!
