Journey to the Caribbean islands when you visit Walt Disney World, at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. This moderate resort, located in the Epcot area – and not far from Disney’s Hollywood Studios – features a relaxed and colorful Caribbean theme that makes it a great choice for your Disney vacation!
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is made up of two-story buildings divided into six “villages”: Barbados, Martinique, Jamaica, Aruba, Trinidad South, and Trinidad North. These villages are ringed around Barefoot Bay, a lake in the center of the resort. Guests can easily cross the lake using the pedestrian bridge to Caribbean Cay, an island in the center of the lake.
The rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort mainly sleep 4 guests with 2 queen beds, although there are also options with a child-size day bed that can sleep 5. Rooms have a double sink vanity, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker. This resort also offers themed pirate rooms, with beds decorated like sailing ships and a variety of other pirate-themed accents.
Guests can find dining options at Old Port Royale, the recently “re-imagined” central hub of Caribbean Beach Resort. This building houses the resort’s food court, Centertown Market, where you can savor exotic island flavors with an indoor street market vibe and a flavorful Latin- and Caribbean-inspired breakfast and dinner menu. Old Port Royale also has a new table-service restaurant, Sebastian’s Bistro, which serves surf and turf meals infused with rich Latin and Caribbean flavors. Like all Walt Disney World Resort hotels, this resort’s restaurant accepts the Disney Dining Plan.
The Caribbean theme is evident wherever you wander in this resort, with delightful island touches everywhere you look. With steel drum music playing in the background throughout, it’s easy to forget you’re in Florida.
And kids will love the fantastic main pool area – Fuentes del Morro Pool and Water Play Area – with 2 water slides and a pirate themed kids water park area for children 48″ and under! This pool is located at Old Port Royale, and each village also has their own smaller pool.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is home to the new Disney Skyliner transportation to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. With the station being a short walk, Disney Skyliner is a great way to get to 2 of the 4 theme parks, and is a definite benefit to staying at this resort.
In addition, Caribbean Beach offers bus service to all four Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. Because the resort is more spread out than many other resorts, each village has its own bus stop to make sure guests don’t have an overly long walk to their nearest bus stop. There is also an internal resort bus to take guests around the resort.
