Summer is upon us, and it’s one of the most popular times of year to visit Universal Orlando Resort. There are several new things to check out at Universal Orlando, and some new things coming out later this summer, as well.
Universal Orlando’s CityWalk, a shopping and dining area between their two theme parks, has been adding many new restaurants over the past couple of years. The newest addition is the NBC Sports Grill & Brew, located right next to the water launch for Universal’s on-site hotels. It’s an ultimate take on a sports bar, with a menu of ribs, steaks, burgers, and pulled pork, as well as a wide variety of beers.
If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty, you’ll find a new must-visit spot inside Universal Studios Florida – a new Hello Kitty store, featuring all kinds of merchandise with the popular character and her friends. On most days you can also meet Hello Kitty at her store.
Thrill fans will be excited to see the re-imagined Incredible Hulk Coaster when it reopens in late summer. It was already one of the most thrilling and most visible attractions at Islands of Adventure, and it closed last year for a near-complete overhaul. This intense roller coaster will be roaring back to life with a new story line, new queue, and new ride vehicles. The official opening date has not yet been announced.
Even more exciting than the return of a re-imagined favorite is the premiere of an all-new thrill ride. Skull Island: Reign of Kong is also set to open this summer, and will take guests deep into the wild and mysterious Skull Island, filled with dangerous prehistoric creatures. We’ve watched the façade of the ride rise up next to the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure over the past year, and it promises to be an amazing experience. There is no official opening date yet, but with summer already here, we’re hoping for an announcement soon.
