Looking for a game where you can battle Disney’s evil Villains? You can play the Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom interactive game! This game is played every where through out Magic Kingdom with the exception of Tomorrowland.

Hades has gathered up a group of villains to collect crystals to take over the Magic Kingdom. Merlin from The Sword and the Stone, is recruiting guests to become apprentice sorcerers to battle these villains.

The first thing you need to do to play this interactive game is sign up at either the Firehouse in town square on Main Street, or behind Ye Old Christmas Shop in Liberty Square. You will be given a key card to use to play. You can also have the game linked to your magic band if you would like. You will receive a map with locations of the portals you will use to battle the villains. The last thing you will need is spell cards. These cards come in packs of five. There are four common cards and one rare star card. They are numbered from 1-60. The cards have different types of spells. Level one (easy) does not require a certain combination to defeat the villains. As you level up to medium or hard, knowing how these spells work together is important.

After you sign up a cast member shows you how to play. At the first portal Merlin introduces himself and explains a little more about Hades’ evil plan and how you can help. You can play as long or as¬†little as you would like. When you stop playing you can pick up exactly where you left off, the next time you visit Magic Kingdom.

Every day that you choose to play, or at least check in at your next portal, you can receive a new pack of cards. Since there are 60 of them, it’s nice to get more cards in the attempt to complete the set. Each member of your party can get a pack of cards which also helps when trying to acquire a full set. Since the cards have Disney characters pictured on them they also make a nice souvenir.

The best part is that this game and all it’s necessary parts are free. There are “at home” games you can purchase that include more cards as well as a lightning card. These are super rare cards numbered 61-70. If you choose to make this purchase, all the cards included can be used with the interactive portals.

When my family is wanting something different to do at Magic Kingdom, we enjoy playing the game. If your family likes to occasionally take breaks from the rides, I suggest you sign up to become apprentice sorcerers. Merlin is always looking for guests to recruit.

Denise has loved Disney as far back as she can remember. She has two teenage girls who were raised with Disney. Their rooms were decorated, and their closets were filled with Disney articles. Her friends affectionately call her “the crazy Disney lady”. Denise was born and raised in Oregon. Currently she lives in both Oregon and Florida splitting her time between both parts of the country. She lives with her youngest daughter (15) and her roommate. Her daughter goes to high school In Oregon. Denise and her roommate sneak away to Florida several times a year, as often as possible. Her daughter tags along when she can, without missing too much school. Her oldest daughter (20) doesn’t make it to Florida much anymore, but hopes to again very soon. Denise’s first trip to Walt Disney World was for her birthday in 2009. She fell more in love with the magic of Disney that day! Ever since then, Denise and her kids have been annual passholders. Last spring she upgraded to a premier pass to include Disneyland. Over spring break her youngest daughter had the pleasure of her first visit to Disneyland. With Denise helping them plan, her brother and his family enjoyed their first family trip to Disneyland at that same time. Denise is looking forward to helping you with money saving tips as well as sharing the excitement and magic of Disney!
