14918972_10154612729207488_2630489571811000892_oUniversal Orlando has lots of opportunities to meet unique characters, with many fun interactions to find at Universal Studios Florida. Most character meets are scheduled, and there are a few that aren’t, but if you look in the right places you can find plenty of awesome character experiences.

Universal Studios is definitely the place for finding lots of cartoon characters from television shows and movies. Near the Shrek 4-D theater, guests can meet Shrek and Donkey, often also meeting with Fiona. At the Spongebob Storepants shop, guests can often find Spongebob and Patrick meeting guests. Gru and his Minions can often be found near Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. Characters from Spongebob Squarepants and Despicable Me also often appear with their float from the afternoon Superstar Parade for a dance party with guests in front of Mel’s Drive-In in the Hollywood area.

In the Woody Woodpecker Kid Zone, Barney and friends are often available to meet after their daily show, A Day in the Park with Barney. Show times are listed on the park maps. Fans of the popular franchise Hello Kitty can also meet her at her new store, at the former ‘I Love Lucy’ tribute area.

In the Springfield USA area of the park, you can often find the Simpson family, as well as Krusty the Klown and Sideshow Bob. The Simpsons also sometimes appear in the Hollywood area. The Hollywood area is also the place to find several other roaming characters, such as Scooby-Doo and Shaggy. During busier times Daphne, Fred, and Velma will sometimes appear, as well. Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball are also sometime greeting guests here. If you head farther into the park towards Central Park, you’ll sometimes find Doc Brown near the Delorean on display.

Behind Transformers: The Ride 3D, guests can also find a meet and greet area for different Transformers characters. The meet rotates amongst Bumblebee, Megatron, and Optimus Prime. Even if you’re not a huge fan of Transformers, it’s very cool to watch them interact with guests.

Universal Studios also offers one of the very few meet-able characters in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Knight Bus conductor. He hangs out with his shrunken head friend on the London Waterfront near the Knight Bus, and is happy to chat with guests and take pictures.
