Now that you’ve officially been introduced to my husband, Kenny, I’d like to you introduce to one of our favorite resorts, Saratoga Springs. Saratoga Springs was the first Walt Disney World resort that we stayed at for our honeymoon 7 years ago. Kenny had originally booked us a Studio room, but upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised by a One Bedroom Villa upgrade!
Saratoga Springs is pretty spread out but is relatively quiet. We’ve stayed at several different sections of the resort and found that the noisiest section was Carousel nearest the bus entrance.
We fell in love the greenery, walkways and ponds with fountains in our many stays at Saratoga Springs. The Lake Buena Vista golf course is located at the entrance to Saratoga Springs which just adds to the greenery. There is the main pool with the large slide hidden in the rock formations and smaller quiet pools spread throughout the resort.
Saratoga Springs has four total restaurants (three quick services and one casual dining). Outside of the main lobby is a boat dock. This is where you can board a water taxi to Downtown Disney, which is also within walking distance on a recently added bridge.
Saratoga Springs has undergone some renovations since our first stay, so now there are increased Disney touches. While the theme of this resort is the upstate New York horse racetrack and resort, we often read that many felt this resort lacked a good theme. So now, the throw pillows and other decorations feature the many different horses found in Disney movies as a more subtle hint.
This resort does house the Disney Vacation Club show rooms. Feel free to take a no obligation tour and at the end, treat yourself to some ice cream.
Adrienne is originally from the Chicago area but lives outside of Indianapolis with her husband, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. She went to Disneyland when she was 7, which started her love of Disney. She even named one of her dogs after her favorite princess, Aurora. She and Kenny, her husband, celebrated their honeymoon at Walt Disney World in 2007 and have returned for every anniversary. They have stayed at variety of resorts on property and traveled with friends and family. Adrienne and Kenny bought into DVC in May 2011 and rewarded themselves with their first fall trip for some of the special events. Adrienne and Kenny consider WDW their “second home” and have become the go-to people for any Disney related questions and advice from friends, families, and acquaintances. Kenny is now a travel agent with The Affordable Mouse and you can follow him on Facebook and contact him at email@example.com.
