Disney Gift Giving: Debbie’s Wish List

With the holidays around the corner, we at The Affordable Mouse, of course, have a few Disney things on our Christmas wish lists….and we thought it might be fun to share what we’re wishing for with you! Hope you enjoy….and maybe get some good ideas for your lists! 🙂

It’s that time of year when you start thinking about that perfect gift.  It will be either the perfect gift for a special loved one or perhaps something perfect that you are hoping to receive.  While we all wish we could hop a plane or in the car for a quick trip to holiday shop at Walt Disney World, sometimes that is not practical.  After the closure of the Disney Stores in many major cities, like it did here in Chattanooga, I can’t just run over the mall to see the latest Disney has to offer either.  Thanks to the internet, it is so much easier to find those Disney gifts everyone wants without the trip expense.

I am a typical tourist while in WDW, but my spending generally goes toward pins while at WDW.  In fact I can attest to having enough pins, which could have really helped my son toward his college education.  I have boxes and shadow frames full of pins.  I still look at them on a regular basis and they take me back to each day I purchased them.

My other favorite Disney collectable is snow globes. These are always on my wish list, especially during the holidays.  I have a couple larger ones and several smaller ones and each one is very special to me.  I especially like ones that have a light in the base and a music box. I found a great snow globe while dreamingly surfing Disneystore.com.  This one really jumped out at me with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto becoming Cartoonists. Each character helps to draw their adventures on a beautiful snow globe salute to the art of the comic strip!  It is very appropriately named ”Comic Strip Artists”.  The center globe has all of Walt Disney’s original cartoon 1930’s stars surrounding it with Mickey taking center stage inside.   The snow globe contains a music box which plays Mickey Mouse March and the comic strip comes to life with a soft glow light within the base.  When you shake the globe sparkly pixie dust surrounds Mickey.  This globe is part of the Nostalgic Mickey Mouse Collection.

This snow globe is very nicely priced at $79.50, which makes it much more affordable than most collectables.

Everyone who knows me knows I am a “bag-hound”.  I have bags for every occasion and for everything I need to carry. Yes, I have purses, but those are different.  I love bags for groceries, for carrying my lunch to work, for carrying my extra pair of shoes, well you get the point!  I even have special Disney bags I keep just for my trips to WDW.  I stumbled upon an awesome collection of bags recently on Disneystore.com.  I found them under accessories + bags & totes. These are so reasonably priced; they can easily be used for gift wrapping or keep for your weekly grocery shopping trips.  I have included just a few of my favorites the Disney Store has available:

Disney Nostalgia Mickey Mouse Bag Set

Mickey Mouse Reusable Totes

Pop Art Reusable Mickey Mouse Shopping Bag

Be sure and check out the “People Who Viewed This Item Ultimately Bought” section at the bottom of the pages.  You will find similar bags for all the popular characters.

These are just a small sampling of the wonderful items found on Disneystore.com and be sure to check out Amazon.com also.   I can’t make it to Walt Disney World as often as I like, but now I can find a lot of wonderful ideas and park-themed items for everyone on my holiday shopping list.
