Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of November 7, 2011

Happy Weekend Disney Friends! Hope you have some wonderful plans set up for this weekend! Before you get started running those Saturday errands though, take a few minutes to check out some of the news that Rachel has found for us in the Disney Blog Land. Babes in Disneyland Blog shared a little fun fact to go with Monday’s Disneyland article, and something quite interesting to note. It only took 366 days to build Disneyland!

Disney Parks Blog introduced us to Goofy’s Gift Exchange. If you like virtual games, you will love the new holiday game from Disneyland on Facebook. You can be a Disney character, gift Disney Park-themed gifts to your Facebook friends, and decorate your virtual house.

A new interactive, role-playing trading card game is being tested by cast members at the Magic Kingdom and expected to be available to guests in early 2012. Guests try to find the Disney Villains trying to take over the Magic Kingdom in Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.

Little ones at Walt Disney World can now enjoy a bedtime story from Duffy the Disney Bear! It is a read-along broadcast on TV at the Disney resorts. You can see a video of it at Disney Parks Blog.

Weddings at Walt Disney World are always a magical affair. Yesterday, on November 11, 2011 11 couples got married at the resort.

The Imagineers are some very smart creatures and are responsible for some of the unique Disney touches throughout the parks. Take a look at some special ones over on Chip and Co.

On Veteran’s Day we paused to honor those who have served our country. At Disneyland, veterans are celebrated daily and all active duty and retired military are invited to participate in the daily flag retreat ceremony.
