Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of November 14, 2011

Greetings Disney Friends! Thanksgiving is around the corner, and we at The Affordable Mouse are SO thankful for all of you! It is a true joy to share the Disney love with you each week, and we appreciate the support you continue to show our community. 🙂 And speaking of Disney love….Rachel has spent the week searching for some awesome posts from all around the Disney internet-land. Delightfully Disney has a great tip: If you enjoy meeting the characters on your WDW vacation, you won’t want to miss the Epcot Character Spot, a great place to get multiple characters at once.

Disney Parks Blog brought us a great story about how Disneyland Resort kicked off the holidays with a special lighting ceremony this week.

Staying out on the west coast, Disney Parks Blog also shared that World of Color, the fantastic light and water show at Disney California Adventure Park, celebrated its 1000th performance this week. It is a spectacular show (definitely worth searching YouTube for if you have not seen it in person.)

If you’re a Major League Baseball fan, Chip and Co. tells us you may want to plan your trip for spring 2012. Four teams, including the St Louis Cardinals, will be facing the Atlanta Braves in preseason games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Disney continues to try to improve its technologies and this week the first RFID turnstiles opened at Epcot.

Disney Parks Blog hosted a live chat this week with an Imagineer to discuss the Fantasyland expansion.

If you’re preparing for Black Friday, you’ll want to note the dates and times your local Disney Store will be open, courtesy of Stitch Kingdom.

Cruise Critic has announced the 2011 Editors’ Pick Awards. The Disney Dream was awarded as the “Best New Ship” and for having the best inside cabins.
