Happy New Year Disney Friends! As we prepare to bid farewell to 2011 and welcome 2012, Rachel is sending out the old year with a great Disney blog round-up this week….some old, some new, all fun! Enjoy! 🙂

Here is a great look back at the Disney Parks Blog’s Top 5 news stories for Walt Disney World in 2011, as well as the Top 5 for Disneyland.

The Art of Animation Resort opens in just a few months. Here is a schedule of its opening, as it opens in phases.

A new Disney World app is now available for iPhone and iPad. Disney World Pro is priced at $3.99.

If you worry about how you look in pictures, here are some great tips from Delightfully Disney about staying cute in your trip pics.

There will be new exclusive Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Pirates League makeovers available aboard the Disney Fantasy cruise ship.

Ever considered Adventures by Disney? You could travel the globe with Disney and see some of the seven wonders of the world as only Disney could show them to you.

Around the holidays and some special events, the crowd levels can be so high that Disney has in place a plan to restrict access to the parks. If you are traveling at a peak time, you may want to keep their plan in mind and plan your days accordingly to make sure you get into the park.

If you or someone you know is getting married, what could be better than a Disney Princess inspired wedding gown? Alfred Angelo has the exclusive designs. (Thanks, Disney Guru for blogging about them!)

If you are already booked or considering booking a Disney Cruise Line trip for December 2012, they have cancelled all Mexican Riviera sailings for that month.

That’s a wrap for this week and this year! Have a safe and Happy New Year! 🙂

Rachel is a Virginia native who now lives in Louisiana. She is married with two children, ages 5 and 3. After dreaming and wishing for several years, her family had their very first Disney vacations this year and are now addicted to researching and planning—whether for themselves or for others. They now plan to visit the parks at least once a year.
