Dining at Disney World: Art of Animation, Landscape of Flavors Food Court

One of the most popular places for families right now is Disney’s Art of Animation.  The resort is beautiful and the attention to detail is amazing.  Art of Animation has four themes throughout, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Car’s Each of these areas will make you feel like you are actually in the movie!  We especially loved the Cars area, Mater, Lightening McQueen, and all their friends are in the courtyard and available for pictures.

As you know Lee and I are all about the food and Art of Animation does not disappoint.  It’s much like the other Value Resorts when it comes to the set up, however we feel the food is much fresher and tastier than that of the food we have eaten in All-Star Sports & Music.  The food court is called Landscape of Flavors; there are four different stations which serve fresh, customized meals.  They have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and are open from 6AM until midnight.  There is also a  “Grab N’ Go” section if you want to take your food and get to the parks without staying to eat.  The seating area is sprawling and the island in the middle contains the beverage center.  There is an additional beverage center in another section of the seating area so there is plenty of access and, unlike other resorts, you do not feel crowded as you obtain your drinks.  Another nice thing at the Landscape of  Flavors is that they serve the food on heavy, plastic plates and provide real silverware.  This gives you the feel of a “nicer,” restaurant quality eatery, rather than the other Quick Service Food Courts that serve their food on paper plates and provide plasticware to eat with.

We highly recommend the Create Your Own Pasta Bar.  You can choose from three different types of pasta, marinara or alfredo style sauces.  Then you add your choice of chicken, shrimp, or tofu, and finally a variety of veggies and spices that will add flavor to your customized dish.  Each dish is prepared fresh in front of you and served with bread.  With so many choices each trip can be a unique experience!  The food quality is the typically high Disney standard we have all come to expect.  And, with the quick service price, the Create Your Own Pasta Bar is one of the best values in Disney.

We have also had the Create Your Own Salad and it was just as fresh as you could buy from a Farmer’s Market.  There were plenty of veggies, cheeses, and meats to choose from, as well as many dressings and toppings, such as croutons and nuts, to make your salad just the way you like it.  You may also add chicken or shrimp if you wish.

The portions are rather large and we have ordered the pasta and salad to split both.  It was so much food we could barely finish it between two adults.  The kids generally get the same things; Lucas the kids’ pizza and Emalie the turkey sandwich or kids sized, Create Your Own Salad.

I (Lee) have had the Surf and Turf Burger and thought it was fantastic.  The burger was large, meaty, and delicious.  I found it to be cooked perfectly and the taste was that of a burger fresh from the grill.  This was the perfect meal to re-fill your tank after a long day in the parks.

Landscape of Flavors is open for breakfast and has several new and different items that we haven’t seen served in other Disney Resorts.  These items include a Breakfast Chicken Burger topped with pepper jack cheese and a green chili omelet, breakfast sandwich served on Naan Bread, Challah French Toast, Chocolate pancakes, Create Your Own Fruit Bowl, a Create Your Own Cereal Bowl, and a Steak and Egg Breakfast Burger.  They also serve the “normal” Disney breakfast items that you see throughout the rest of the resorts including the Bounty Platter, Mickey waffles, pancakes, and eggs.

For lunch/dinner they have the above mentioned Create Your Own Pasta & Salad’s as well as freshly made sandwiches, pizza, burgers (including Veggie Burger’s), Mongolian Stir Fry & Grilled Fish, and a Tandoori Boneless Chicken Thigh or Portuguese Sausage served with Naan Bread and 2 additional sides.  The plates of the Mongolian and the Tandoori meals have looked very hearty and tasty when I have seen them served.

Overall we think that Landscape of Flavors at Art of Animation is a great choice for any meal.  It is worth going over to see the resort itself and the different themed areas.

Let us know how you like the Landscape of Flavors and if you have something in particular you like so we and/or other readers can give it a try!
