Cast Member’s Corner: To Go Again Will Be An Awfully Big Adventure

There are very few times when I get a positive reaction from people when I tell them that I’m going back to Disney.  More often then not it is something along the lines of “Again? Really?”  Most times it’s a really good over exaggerated eye roll.  But even with these reactions I don’t let it dampen my spirits, because regardless whether it’s the fifth time or the twenty-fifth time, I’m always excited.

When people find out how many times I’ve been to Disney and that I’m going again they usually ask me why.  Why do I keep going back?  Isn’t for little kids?  Of course I then need to educate people and spread the Disney love along.  For those of you that visit Disney as often as you can or dream of visiting more often you understand how I feel.  For those of you that have never been or think visiting once is enough I’ll explain my reasoning for why I visit Disney just as often as I can.

One reason I don’t get bored going to Disney over and over again is because it is constantly changing.  New rides, new park, parades, shows, characters, you name it Disney is constantly making changes to improve visits and give guests what they want.  Since I love Disney and follow a lot of what they’re coming up with, I want to be able to experience every new thing they have and see it first hand.  But with all the new I also like parts of Disney that never change.

Disney is a place where I feel safe, where I can hop from park to park, resort to resort and not really worry.  I trust Disney, their transportation system, their security, and their cast members.  I know that if I get lost somewhere on property there is a Cast Member not too far off that will direct me where I need to go with a smile on my face.  I will be greeted with smiles everywhere on property and made to feel special.  When I’ve gone for my birthday every Cast Member made me feel like it was a special birthday and that it was all about me enjoying the day.  You don’t get that type of treatment at other parks or other vacation destinations.

Another thing that keeps bringing me back to Disney is the fact that I can be a kid there or the adult that I am.  Disney is not just for kids.  Think about EPCOT.  When I was a kid I did not like going to EPCOT, I was a picky eater and just wanted to go on rides.  As I’ve grown I’ve come to appreciate EPCOT a lot more.  There are still attractions I enjoy at EPCOT such as Test Track and Mission Space.  But I’ve grown to also love the food.  EPCOT also plays host to some great events such as the Wine and Food Festival and the Flower and Garden Festival providing guests with more tastes from around the world and demos.  If you’re not there for one of these events though the Cast Members from the different countries are always up for conversation!  Of course when I’m tired of acting like an adult I can always return to my favorite rides from when I was a kid across the parks.  I can meet the characters, and sit on the curb for the parade.

A vacation at Disney gives me the opportunity to let loose and have things to do.  I can become a kid again or enjoy the adult side of Disney.  With the constant changes there’s always something new for me to see there or new Cast Members to talk to.  It is a vacation where I don’t need to worry about my safety or feel like I’m just another face in the crowd.  I feel like I’m special while I’m there.  Disney provides me with opportunities for relaxation, entertainment, and education.  It is a vacation I can go on with my fiancé, or our families.  There is something for everyone at Disney and that is why I continue to go back again and again.

I’m sure it’s different for everyone so please share why you go back again and again.  Until next time, have faith and trust, and may Tinkerbell sprinkle some pixie dust on your next visit to Disney!

Jess was born and raised on Long Island, New York but once college began so did her adventures. She’s lived in Florida, Wisconsin, and now South Carolina. Her family is part of the Disney Vacation Club and has been visiting since she was a little girl, and continuously goes every year. Besides being a big Disney fan she has also been a Disney Cast Member working in Magic Kingdom, and she counts it as one of the most magical experiences. She worked with everyone’s favorite elephant Dumbo, Cinderella’s Carousel, and Mickey’s Philharmagic. Jess has also visited Disneyland, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and gone on two Disney Cruises. She has so many great memories from Disney besides running half marathons and 5ks, birthday parties, and family reunions. If asked where she would want to go it is almost always Disney, and when asked why, it is almost always because she can eat awesome gluten free food! And it doesn’t hurt that there is always faith, trust, and pixie dust with magic in the air!
