Terrific Tuesday: Future World Attractions

As you walk through the gates of Epcot, you enter the Future World.  The first attraction encountered is the giant sphere that houses Spaceship Earth.  Here you’ll take a ride through the centuries and learn about the history of communication.  You will also create your own future with the touch screen computer located in your “car”.  Following the ride, there is an interactive post show where visitors can play virtual reality games and even send your trip to the future via email post card home to friends and family.  Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Guilt-Free Tours

I visit Disney World a lot. But it never feels like a lot because, during each visit, I find something new and exciting to explore or discover. Recently, I experienced my first Disney tour–Segway Around the World Tour–and I’m super excited to try some of the other offerings.

But I’m not made of money, which is why I was so excited to discover that Disney’s tours are available at a range of price points, from insanely expensive to reasonably priced to free. Yes, free.

Is there anything thriftier than free? (Staying home, I guess … but that’s not any fun.)  Read more

Terrific Tuesdays: Epcot’s Italy Pavilion

The Italy pavilion is one of my favorite places to visit at Epcot.  The Venice replicated architecture alone is exquisite.  Gorgeous bridges, gondolas and fountains adorn the pavilion, as well as the beautiful gardens spread throughout.  There are no rides or major attractions found in the Italy pavilion other than the daily street performers and the occasional meet and greet with Pinocchio, it is truly a place for romance, peace and rest. Disney cast members play a huge role in your vacation experience. They’re allows happy to help and truly enjoy being part of the show! Visiting The World Showcase at Epcot is an excellent opportunity to chat with people from all over the world. Some of these cast members are away from their homes and families for over a year to bring a truly unique experience to all Disney guests. Don’t be shy to ask questions about their culture. It’s always fun to learn a thing or two on vacation!

Find out how the FREE services of a Disney World travel agent can make planning your Disney vacation simple…and for a limited time, get a FREE Disney gift card when you book your trip with me! ($2000 minimum package cost)

Karen grew up in the Boston area and traveled to Disney World many times with her parents and sister. Always staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins gave the trips a feeling of a home away from home. It also started the tradition of attending the Hoop Dee Doo Review on each trip! Somehow that show sparked her interest in the Disney College Program. Which she did in the fall of 2002, working as a hostess @ Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney. Now as an adult, Karen finds herself traveling to the parks on a yearly basis! Photography has always been a hobby of Karen’s, but over the past few years it has become her passion. It’s even taken her to her favorite place! The Make a Wish Foundation sent a family to Disney for a week and Karen was lucky enough to be their photographer of choice! She got to tag along and photograph their memories being made. She hopes to get that experience again someday! You can find more of Karen’s photography on her site www.KPportraits.com.

Terrific Tuesdays: Epcot’s Germany Pavilion

Yet another country in Epcot’s World Showcase is Germany.  As you enter the quaint little German village, you are greeted with cobblestone streets, a gorgeous fountain and beautiful architecture, including a chiming clock tower.   Read more
