Terrific Tuesdays: Kilimanjaro Safari

When you visit Animal Kingdom and encounter the animals on the Kilimanjaro Safari, you realize that this is anything but a zoo! As you ride in a open-air jeep through the savanna, you will see animals on both sides of the jeep and we have had to stop to just let an antelope or another wild animal cross in front of you. Terrific Tuesdays: Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life

1908040_10153148029111234_1220008989881715781_nI absolutely love walking around the Tree of Life, through the Discovery Trails and exploring the 300 + animals “carved” in to the trunk of this magnificent man-made tree! Not only is it a relaxing and shaded walkway, but it also gives you an up-close view of every animal and creature. Every time I have been there, I find other creatures I never saw before. It is hard to believe each leaf, twig, etc was meticulously hand crafted to become the icon of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Read more

Of course, you won’t ever see Asia and Africa at the same time in the “real world”, at Disney you certainly can! I love this scene with these two icons from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Africa’s Tree of Life, and Asia’s Expedition Everest….both imposing, both breathtaking, and here in this photo….two halves that together make a harmonious whole.
