My Thoughts About Disney Vacation Club Are at Chip and Co. This Week

Have you ever wondered about all the talk about Disney Vacation Club? And have you especially wondered if buying into Disney’s timeshare could be an investment that might actually be a savings to you in the long run?

My family wondered about those things for quite some time. Finally, we did some research, discussed the pros and cons of DVC, talked to a number of owners…and then sat down with a calculator to see if it might just be an affordable Disney vacation choice for us.

I talk about how we did this…and the results…over at Chip and Co. this week. Stroll on over and read about our experiences…and then be sure to let me know your thoughts about DVC. Might this be an affordable option for you?

I look forward to seeing you over there! 🙂

Stroll on Over to Chip and Co. to Chat About Disney Souvenirs

One of the most frustrating things for folks trying to plan affordable Disney vacations is to work so hard trying to save money on every conceivable aspect of their trip….and then have souvenir buying blow the budget completely.

I talk about just this in my post over at Chip and Co. today: Making Sure Your Disney Vacation Souvenirs Don’t Break the Bank:

“There is a way to combat “buy-me-itis” though…but it involves thinking ahead and planning for souvenirs before you ever leave home. There are a number of ways to make your souvenirs actually quite affordable, and if you can plan your purchases as carefully as the rest of your trip, you may not end up blowing your vacation budget on souvenirs. But ya gotta have a plan!”

We’re Chatting About Disney Vacation Rental Homes at Chip and Co. Today

Have you ever thought of staying in a vacation home at Walt Disney World, in order to accommodate a larger group more comfortably…and to save money as well? If you have not, but are finding it challenging to find a place to stay for your large family or group that is affordable, then you may want to consider it….and you may want to read my post over at Chip and Co. today:

Is Renting a Vacation Home at Disney the Right Choice for You?

I got into an interesting discussion with a friend recently, who is planning a Disney World vacation with extended family. We were talking about the various options for where to stay: official Disney resort, off-property hotel, or vacation home or condo. It was kind of interesting, as they all have pros and cons, and when it comes to deciding the best option, especially if you are trying to have as affordable a Disney vacation as possible….as she was….then the picture isn’t always black and white. As she was leaning towards renting a home, I’m going to focus this post on the pros and cons of vacation home rental at Disney, and then would like to hear from you……

You can read the rest of the post here.

And please leave me your thoughts about whether you would ever consider this, and especially if you have done it. I would love to know if you would rent a vacation home at Disney again!

Have a magical day!

Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of May 17, 2010

I enjoyed reading some great Disney blogs this past week. It’s always so hard for me to choose my favorites 12236130441082257790shokunin_icon_with_globe_svg_medto share with you each Saturday…but if I must, I must. 🙂

Here are a few of the ones that I thought were especially cool:

Chip and Co. always has great blog posts. Two that I especially enjoyed were Disney Food Confession – Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Milkshake (doesn’t that sound yummy?) and this one from Chris: Top Eats: Top Five Character Meals which will be very helpful when trying to book your next character meal!

Disney Food Blog provided another food-related post, that will be so helpful in planning your Advanced Dining Reservations:5 Best “One-Credit” Disney Dining Values

The official Disney Parks Blog reminded us about some of the “lesser-known” attractions all around the parks: The “Characters” of Main Street, U.S.A.

Disney College Blog shared her Favorite Rides: Harder than It Looks

Will you have some time without your kids at Disney World? Be sure to read this great post from Walt Disney World: It’s Not Just for Kids to learn about great Activities for an adult couple with ONE kidless day

And finally, forgive my shameless plug for my posts over at Chip and Co. this week: Thinking About a Disney World Christmas? Why You Need to Start Planning Now. and That Disney Christmas Magic.

OK everyone. Happy reading and have a magical weekend! 🙂

Come on Over to Chip and Co.

My post over at Chip and Co. this week was about a very important topic, in my opinion, if you are trying to save money so you can have an affordable Disney vacation.tickets-383x500

Buyer Beware: Discount Disney Tickets 411

There are currently some fantastic Disney promotions that can really help you plan an affordable Disney vacation, and if you are able to travel during the promotion availability, you can save some serious money. But what if you can’t? What if you have to visit Disney World during the “popular” times: vacations, holidays etc? Disney does not offer promotions during that time frame, because frankly they don’t need to. The crowds during these times prove the obvious: the last thing Disney needs to do is offer attractive promotions to entice more people to visit.

Thanks for going over there to play today! Have a magical day!
