The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is so full of experiences, details and extras to find that one could easily spend the whole day there! The details really add to it all and make you feel as if you’ve been transported to the Wizarding World itself. If you’re visiting Universal Orlando Resort to enjoy the magic, then look beyond just the rides and be on the look-out for these extras.
You won’t find characters from the series available to meet, but you can have a chat with the Knight Bus Driver on the London Waterfront. His shrunken head friend inside the bus cab is happy to chat with you, too. They’re available to talk and take photos most of the day.
If you’d like a unique souvenir from your visit to Gringotts Bank, or if you want to be able to use the local currency, you can stop by the Gringotts Money Exchange. This is not inside Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts – it’s in Carkitt Market, next to Wiseacre’s. Inside you can exchange your Muggle money for Gringotts bank notes, which you can keep for yourself or use in Wizarding World shops. Try asking the goblin at the desk a few questions while you’re in line.
Some of the best details in the park are actually located in the queues for rides. If you’re lining up for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, you’ll see the inside of a Hogwarts classroom, the Gryffindor Common Room, Dumbledore’s office, and more. At Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, you’ll go deep inside Gringotts Bank. There are also fun things to find at other rides, as well. Look out for Hagrid’s hut in the Flight of the Hippogriff queue.
Of course there are a variety of shows throughout the day that also help you feel like you are in the Wizarding World. Get involved in the Triwizard Spirit Rally. Listen the the Tales of Beedle the Bard. And don’t miss the fire-breathing dragon on top of Gringotts Bank!
Last but not least, if you really want to feel like you’ve transcended a Muggle existence, you may want to invest in an interactive wand. You can use it to cast spells throughout Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, making shop window displays dance, frogs appear, or even make it rain. These are available to purchase at the Ollivander’s locations in both sections of the Wizarding World.
There are even more details to be found inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so definitely take time to explore and enjoy during your visit.
