When going on a Disney vacation, most people think about what park they’re going to and what rides they’ll be going on. What is often overlooked are the extras Disney has available, even at their own resorts. One such overlooked thing are the spas. This is something typically associated with vacations, yet with Disney it is not. However, you may want to consider visiting one of the spas at Disney World: like everything else at Disney they are magical. There are several different spas on property, so you just have to decide what kind of experience you are looking for.
In Walt Disney World there are several spas on property. They are located at Saratoga Springs, Dolphin Resort, and the Grand Floridian. The Grand Floridian’s spa has just been renovated and renamed Senses. At the Dolphin the spa is called Mandara Spa. And at Saratoga Springs the spa is simply called The Spa at Saratoga Springs. Each spa will offer the basic services you would expect.
On a recent trip, my boyfriend and I got to experience the services that The Spa at Saratoga Springs had to offer. The spa is located to the left of Artists Palate above the pool area. It has a quiet lobby where your massage therapist will meet you. They then whisk you up the stairs to your massage room, where they take the time to answer any of your questions and explain what the massage entails. If you have anywhere in particular you want them to focus all you have to do is ask. They offer different amounts of time and massages. The massage area was in a large room and extremely relaxing: it was tempting to fall asleep! After the massage we were brought to a lounge where we sat in our fluffy robes and sipped on water. We had access to the entire spa which included showers, lockers, a whirlpool and saunas. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxing that we didn’t want to leave.
Walt Disney World isn’t the only Disney property that offers spas. In California the Grand California Hotel also has a spa. And of course, Disney Cruise has fabulous spas as well. Not only do they offer spa services on board, but also at Castaway Cay. If you’re a parent that wants to get away for a little while and relax, they can do that for you. You can get your own private cabana overlooking the ocean while you get a massage. It’s picture perfect and what many think of when they think of an ocean front massage.
No matter what you plan to do at Disney, many people go home and feel they need a vacation from their vacation, or they have the Post-Disney Blues. Why not then, get a massage the next time you’re at Walt Disney World. The therapists are willing to work with you to make your experience as relaxing and soothing as you’d like. Get a massage to break up your vacation, or to have a relaxing closure to your vacation. After all your feet do get tired from all the walking!

Jess was born and raised on Long Island, New York but once college began so did her adventures. She’s lived in Florida, Wisconsin, and now South Carolina. Her family is part of the Disney Vacation Club and has been visiting since she was a little girl, and continuously goes every year. Besides being a big Disney fan she has also been a Disney Cast Member working in Magic Kingdom, and she counts it as one of the most magical experiences. She worked with everyone’s favorite elephant Dumbo, Cinderella’s Carousel, and Mickey’s Philharmagic. Jess has also visited Disneyland, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and gone on two Disney Cruises. She has so many great memories from Disney besides running half marathons and 5ks, birthday parties, and family reunions. If asked where she would want to go it is almost always Disney, and when asked why, it is almost always because she can eat awesome gluten free food! And it doesn’t hurt that there is always faith, trust, and pixie dust with magic in the air!
