Due to unforeseen circumstances for the first time in 4 years, my husband and I are missing our fall trip to Walt Disney World. We are missing multiple visits to the Epcot Food and Wine festival, seeing Eat to the Beat concerts, and hanging out in the Chase lounge to recharge and rehydrate during our week long vacation. We are missing Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, including Hallowishes and the Boo to You Parade. We aren’t really sure what to do with ourselves since we aren’t packing and planning right now, but we’ve found a few creative ideas to pass our time.
Kenny has started wearing his tunic shirt for his MNSSHP costume around the house. Now that we can watch You Tube videos on TV, we’ve already started watching Boo to You Parades, including this year’s. For Halloween night, we plan to pretend we are at MK and put on as many videos as we can. 😎 Funny thing is that we’ve seen the parade so many times we can tell when things are in a different order. I’m also going to find all of our decorations that we use in our rooms, including the “Boo to You” window cling.
To take care of our Food and Wine Festival withdraw, I’m looking at recipes from past festivals and from Epcot World Showcase restaurants. I’m going to make a meal out of some of our favorite snacks to pretend we are “snacking our way around.” Two of my favorites are the Belgian Waffles with Berry Compote and Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey’s Ganache, but I don’t think they would count for a meal according to Kenny.
But the most important way to cure Disney Withdraw is to book a vacation! So we’ve already booked our trip for March 2015, complete with dining reservations. Hopefully the Flower and Garden Festival will once again have food booths to enable snacking and walking through Epcot. By the time you read this, it will be roughly 160 days to go!!
