One of my most favorite holidays of the year is fast approaching… Christmas. I love everything about it; the sights, the sounds, the music, the decorations and of course the fresh baked treats coming from the kitchen. I just love Christmas and the magic it brings to our home. For me the magic of Christmas comes from the love of Disney that my husband and I share. Our home is filled with the sights and sounds of all things Disney; from the decorations abound to the Disney village that adorns our mantle. It is such an emotional and meaningful time of year and nothing makes it better than by being surrounded by Mickey and Minnie.
People don’t tend to ask me what I want for Christmas anymore, as my love of Disney is so huge that most people already know. There are so many things out this year and while we are massive Disney collectors and have a room strictly for our Disney collection, it is always so very hard to choose what I want, especially at disneystore.com! Here is the top three items on my Disney Christmas Wish List and why these things would mean so much to me to have! The Lion King holds a very special place in our hearts. We have a Mancoon Cat whose name is Simba and he resembles him quiet well. We have a beautiful Disney plaque in our home that holds the Circle of Life quote on it with a picture of the Lion King family. We can’t watch the movie or see the show in Disneyworld with my husband and I having tears. The movie and the story are so very dear to us; this piece is a symbol of what our family is and what we believe. My husband even holds our Simba up to the ceiling and will bust out singing “The Circle of Life” in tune. This would be a great piece to add to our collection! Crossing my fingers for this one!
Beauty and the Beast is not only my favorite Disney movie EVER but it too shares a story for me that I will always hold dear to my heart. This movie reminds my husband and I of us; Starting out in 8th grade, I was the popular girl and didn’t want anything to do with him at the time. Little did I know that when I entered high school, I would find “Something There That Wasn’t There Before”. We are high school sweethearts and have been married ever since. He is truly by prince and while my name is Belinda, he along with many friends has called me Belle. We had a Disney Vow Renewal on our 10th Wedding Anniversary and I walked down the aisle to “Beauty and the Beast”. For me, looking into this globe, I see me and my Happily Ever After. Santa, I will take 1 please!
I love jewelry and nothing makes it better than the essence of Mickey. These 3 rings on this necklace remind me of the three signature Disney words that I try to always make a part of my day. DREAM, WISH, and BELIEVE. I have many wall hangings in our home with those three words; they mean so much in the world of Disney and they are such an inspiration for all of us. Walt never gave up and always had hope while believing in his dreams. I would wear this every day, keeping it close to my heart. Disney is more than just a love for me, it is something deeper, something that I could never explain but the feeling it gives me is everlasting!
I hope all of you have the most magical holiday season with your family and friends. May the magic of Disney come into your hearts and your home this Christmas; and remember even if we can’t be in Disneyworld for Christmas this year… just think in our hearts, we are already there. Just close your eyes and believe.
Keep Believing ~ Belinda
