Exploring Disney: Once Upon a Christmas Parade

Other than Halloween at Disney World, very few things in life are as wonderful as Christmas in Disney World. I will even relent and say for many families, the holiday season in the World is probably the absolute most magical experience. In a place where the air is already filled with magic and happiness, and wonderful things happen all the time, adding Christmas to it just puts it over the top. There are countless fabulous things to do during the holidays in the World to give you the warmth in your heart, but the centerpiece for many joyful celebrations is the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and within that, is the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. The parades of Disney World are fairly legendary as it is, and there is something truly spectacular about the special holiday parade. Disney with Kids: Magical Mail

Have you ever noticed that there are multiple vintage mailboxes on Main Street at Disney’s Magic Kingdom? The United States Postal Service has loaned these antique mailboxes to the Walt Disney World Resort and they are real, working mailboxes that cast members empty each and every day.  A fun fact – the beautiful cast iron mailboxes (like the one in the photo) were manufactured in Bridgeport, Connecticut in the early 1900s – that’s right around the time our beloved hero Walt Disney was born!
