Adrift with Disney: 75 – The Magic Number for First-Time Disney Cruisers

One week from today, I will be just 75 days from my cruise on the Disney Dream. If you are a first-time Disney cruiser like me, this number will be very important to you. Seventy-five days is the time at which your final balance is due (for stateroom categories 4-12), and it is also the day that you must register your passport information, you can book excursions, and you may book special dining experiences, spa treatments and kids club reservations. This is also the last day to receive a refund if you have paid for your trip but need to cancel (but I sure hope you won’t need to). Read more

Great Disney Food…For Less!

Note: This post originally was published on Disney Guru, as part of their Money Saver Monday series. Many thanks to Kelly for sharing it with us today!

When visiting Walt Disney World many people can agree the food is considered an attraction on your trip. People spend hours planning where they want to eat, what time, what they should eat and many people even look up pictures to see what the food looks like. :0) While there are so many restaurants on Disney property it is impossible to visit all of them on one trip. I don’t know about you but I have my favorite food items at each restaurant from appetizers to desserts I can’t possibly fit it all in. In my recent research on popular food staples throughout Walt Disney World I came across some information that shows in some cases an expensive table service restaurant and a counter service restaurant can carry the same items for very different prices. The only difference is going to be presentation. You may be served your favorite dessert on a paper plate or minus the garnish. Enjoy!!

Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of August 23, 2010

It’s time for our weekly stroll around the world of Disney blogs, where we can read, learn, and be entertained by the many very talented Disney bloggers on the internet. I’ve got some good ones for you this week! 🙂 So grab your beverage of choice, put your feet up, and enjoy….

One of my favorite new blogs is the Disney Dispatch where Bob reviews a variety of other blog posts, with his own viewpoint…and a heavy dose of humor. I was privileged to have him review two of my posts this week, but one of my favorite reviews of his this past week is this one, about the *new* Fairy that is being introduced at Disney World and in an upcoming movie. I got quite a chuckle out of Vidia the (Bulgarian?) Fairy Looks Like Trouble

Chris, who also writes for Chip and Co. had some excellent advice on her own blog Everything Walt Disney World: Do You Need a Parkhopper with Small Children?

Another favorite blogger of mine, The Disney Chick introduced us to Five (More) People You Meet in WDW (And you know that you know these people…..)

AJ at Disney Food Blog continues to keep us all up to date with the 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Low-Cost Seminars and Demonstrations Booking Info

Chip and Co offered an excellent Disneyworld Quick Tip – Getting Those Character Pictures and Ken continues his Oldies But Goodies series with Should Seniors Use Disney’s Magical Express?

Lastly, in case you missed it, my article at Chip and Co. this week was: A Ride-Wimp’s Guide to Disney World 🙂

and Bob’s review at the Disney Dispatch of my dining post this week and Ride Wimp post at Chip and Co. may make you smile as it made me smile.

That’s it for this week everyone! Have a magical weekend!

Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of August 16, 2010

It’s time for another tour of the Disney Blog World, where I share some of my favorite Disney blog posts from the past week. There are always tons, and this past week was no exception!

To start, we once again were pleased to be part of the Disney Blog Carnival: this is the 8th edition! This is one of my favorite things to do as a blogger, because it gives me the chance to learn about new Disney websites and blogs. There are some really talented folks out there writing about what we all love….Disney. So be sure to stop by and check it out!

Chris at Everything Walt Disney World will be participating in Disney’s Wine and Dine Marathon this fall, and I for one am impressed with her plans to do this! Good luck Chris!

I had to share 3 great articles from Chip and Co this week. In Walt Disney World Quick Tip – Illuminations Viewing there are some great suggestions that I will be following on our next Disney trip. Ken had another in his Oldies But Goodies series. This week he talked about  Seniors And Thrill Rides At Walt Disney World. And Lisa shared, in One Mom’s Disney Confession her plans for an adults only Disney World trip.

Lots of great food news and AJ at the Disney Food Blog is there! First she shares some great ideas in 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival: Touring Strategies and then lets everyone in on something I have been waiting to hear about for our December trip: La Hacienda de San Angel Reservations Available After October 15th.

Speaking of the Food and Wine Festival,Theme Park Mom let us know about a very cool addition this year: WDW Swan and Dolphin Resort announces Food & Wine Classic

Think you would like to be on the Disney Mom’s Panel? Then check out Zannaland for some great suggestions for applying, from Suzanna, a current Disney “Mom”: Walt Disney World Moms Panel Search 2011

And last, in case you missed my post at Chip and Co this week, I shared with the readers there a little information about our recent Magical Vacation at Disney’s Hilton Head Resort

Happy reading and happy weekend everyone! 🙂
