What Does a Disney World Travel Agent DO?

One of the most common questions that I get from people is “how can using a Disney travel agent help me?” And I think it’s a fair question, especially from the many folks who have never used a travel agent before. The thing is, there are lots of things I am able to do as a Disney vacation specialist, to help folks with their Disney vacations, whether you are a Disney veteran, or this is your very first trip. With this in mind, since this question is asked so frequently, I thought I would take today’s blog post to re-run an article that I wrote last year.  🙂

Free Planning Help

Probably the biggest myth out there, is that using a travel agent will cost the client more….and frankly, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the services of a Disney World travel agent are free to the vacationer, as travel agents are paid by the company that they book with. So when using a travel agent, the client gets tons of help, Disney expertise and planning knowledge….for free. It’s a win-win situation for the Disney vacationer! Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Hold the Guac

What could be wrong with that?

I’ve written about this on my own blog, but it bears repeating: I love San Angel Inn. The food is good, the atmosphere is transporting and the drinks are heavenly. But there’s a hidden fee here that thrifty Mouseketeers may want to avoid. Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Picture Perfect with Disney

Editor’s Note: I am pleased to introduce you to Tina who is joining us on The Affordable Mouse! Tina will be sharing the Thrifty Thursday column with Melissa Sue and is looking forward to sharing her tips for saving time and money at Disney World. We are thrilled to welcome Tina to our family!  🙂

One of my favorite souvenirs from our trips to Disney is my photos!  There is nothing like having a great collection of pictures that remind us of how fun and special our trip was.

I always grab a Photo Pass from one of the many professional photographers stationed at the front of every park, and usually at key spots.  Here is a list of places you can find them. You just need one pass for the whole trip (if you have a big party than you may want to get two.) To be honest, I don’t think that Disney’s professional pictures are a superb deal…it’s a whopping $149.95 for your professional memories on CD.  You can order this online when you get home.  One good thing about these pricey photos is that photographers can do really cool things with them like put Tinker Bell in your little ones’ hands or Mickey balloons behind your family, fun stuff!  Only buy the CD if you think it’s worth it, some people say you can’t put a price on good memories!  You can save money by pre-ordering your Disney Photo Pass CD before your trip; it’s a better deal for $99.95.
