Tuesday Disney Tips: Monorail Rundown

The monorail system at Disney World opened with the original complex on October 1, 1971. It is one of the best, and certainly most fun, methods of transportation at Walt Disney World. In fact, it is my favorite mode of transportation. Once you are familiar with how the monorail system works, I hope it will fast become one of your favorites too. Read more

Tuesday Disney Tips: Getting Around at Walt Disney World

People generally like to know where they are going, how they will get there and how long their journey will take. Planning your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is no exception. With all Disney has to offer, there are so many different choices of where you will stay, play, and dine that you can be doing something different from every other visitor during each day of your trip. When planning a Walt Disney World itinerary, one of the most confusing topics seems to be how we will get around the resort area in the fastest, most efficient way possible.

Each time my family visits, we ride all of our favorite rides at each park; sometimes more than once. One of our favorites at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Great Movie Ride. We are all movie buffs so we really enjoy cruising along in the tram viewing old movie scenes and animatronic figures from some of our favorites like Mary Poppins, Singin’ in the Rain, and the Wizard of Oz. And, even though we know that the gangster will hijack our vehicle, and we know just about every line of the script, we still enjoy it just the same.

Did you know, though, that there is another version of this ride? We didn’t. Read more

Tuesday Disney Tips: Choosing the Right Dining Plan for Your Trip

I have found the Disney Dining Plans to be hassle-free and easy to use. For several years we have been very thankful to enjoy free dining, but we have also purchased both the Quick Service and Plus Dining plans during some of our trips. Having experience with both plans, I thought I would talk to you guys today about some basic differences in these plans. I hope it might help you to choose the plan that will work best for you during your next trip to “the world.” Obviously there is a great deal of information regarding pricing, etc. but my point today is about choosing the right plan based on the type of trip you will be taking. The considerations I used are flexibility, dining offerings and trip expenses (during the trip). Read more
