Let’s face it a Disney vacation can be anything but relaxing.  Take a look at the last three years of my (week long) trips.  Between the three trips there were eighteen nights spent on property, and we entered the parks 20 days.  This means we entered the parks on the days we arrived and the days we were checking out.  Last year we we finally worked a day into our plans that included a “day off,” where we committed to not going into a park…however since my parents were traveling with us one evening they kept the kids so we could have a “Disney Date Night” and the hubs and I ended up going over to watch Illuminations and getting a treat after our dinner.   Read more

 On our last trip to Walt Disney World, we spent two full days off and on in the Magic Kingdom. Every time we had walked past Be Our Guest the line reached as far as the eye could see. I knew about some guests being able to book fast pass times for lunch, but I couldn’t find a proper “crack” online to be able to. I started off this Disney vacation budget mini-series last time by talking about making a budget right at the beginning, because I really think that it is easier to decide what you can spend first…and then plan a vacation to meet that budget. I always tell folks that there are 3 basic keys to making an affordable Disney vacation happen: planning, budgeting, and an open mind. With these three things guiding you, you can really take all the aspects of a Disney vacation and change each as needed until you have a vacation you can afford.
