It’s no question, when you’re not at Disney you miss it. Even when you just leave the property gates! So it’s no wonder many people do everything they can to keep Disney in their lives even when they can’t be there. I am no different. Some may have thought that since I worked there I would be tired of it (I know, blasphemy!). That just isn’t the case. When I worked at Disney I was still in the parks on my days off. If I didn’t go into a park I at least made it to Downtown Disney and I did not get sick of it one bit! To this day I tell everyone who asks, that working at Disney was the best job I have ever had. When I retire from teaching I plan on going back down to Orlando and working at Disney again. So is it any wonder that I would incorporate as much Disney in my daily life as possible? Read more

I was cooking at work one day and I thought to myself, “What would Walt want for lunch”? So I started doing some research and found, like his personality, Walt had very humble tastes. Walt’s daughter Diane once wrote, “before he married mother, father had eaten in hash houses and lunch wagons for so many years in order to save money that he’d developed a hash house-lunch wagon appetite”. One of his favorite things to eat was chili with beans. So much he would often mix two kinds of canned chili to make the perfect blend. Read more
Disney Outside the World: Missing Fall at Walt Disney World
Due to unforeseen circumstances for the first time in 4 years, my husband and I are missing our fall trip to Walt Disney World. We are missing multiple visits to the Epcot Food and Wine festival, seeing Eat to the Beat concerts, and hanging out in the Chase lounge to recharge and rehydrate during our week long vacation. We are missing Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, including Hallowishes and the Boo to You Parade. We aren’t really sure what to do with ourselves since we aren’t packing and planning right now, but we’ve found a few creative ideas to pass our time. Read more
