My Thoughts About Disney Vacation Club Are at Chip and Co. This Week

Have you ever wondered about all the talk about Disney Vacation Club? And have you especially wondered if buying into Disney’s timeshare could be an investment that might actually be a savings to you in the long run?

My family wondered about those things for quite some time. Finally, we did some research, discussed the pros and cons of DVC, talked to a number of owners…and then sat down with a calculator to see if it might just be an affordable Disney vacation choice for us.

I talk about how we did this…and the results…over at Chip and Co. this week. Stroll on over and read about our experiences…and then be sure to let me know your thoughts about DVC. Might this be an affordable option for you?

You can read the article right here: Could the Disney Vacation Club be Right for Your Family?

I look forward to seeing you over there! 🙂

Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of June 21, 2010

I have an interesting collection of cool blog posts for this week, including a couple from new “budget” blogs that I found this week. Have fun reading…. I know I sure did!

From Inexpensively comes this great article with all kinds of ….well….Tips for Traveling Inexpensively 🙂

Madame Deals has some excellent ideas for Saving Money While Eating Out on Vacation and these tips can definitely apply to eating at Disney World!

Speaking of eating at Disney World, the Disney Food Blog has another mouth-watering post about “The Best Thing I Ever Ate at Disney!”: Breakfast (Why am I always hungry after reading her posts?)

This next post is humorous, and not exactly an affordable Disney vacation tip. But if you heard the news of Disney building new, multi-million dollar mansions on Walt Disney World property, and were bummed as most of us were about the price tag….then you will love this from The Disney Chick who offers thoughts for us paupers who will NOT be moving there:  Golden Oak: If You’re Not Rich, Then Why Are You Reading This?

On another note, Lisa from Chip and Co. has some great ideas for Date Night at Walt Disney World (My DH and I have done this…it is *wonderful* 🙂 )

And lastly, my weekly shameless plug for My posts at Chip and Co. this week: Making Sure Your Disney Vacation Souvenirs Don’t Break the Bank and How to Create a Disney Vacation Scrapbook Without Really Trying

That’s it for this week Disney friends! Have a wonderful weekend!

Stroll on Over to Chip and Co. to Chat About Disney Souvenirs

One of the most frustrating things for folks trying to plan affordable Disney vacations is to work so hard trying to save money on every conceivable aspect of their trip….and then have souvenir buying blow the budget completely.

I talk about just this in my post over at Chip and Co. today: Making Sure Your Disney Vacation Souvenirs Don’t Break the Bank:

“There is a way to combat “buy-me-itis” though…but it involves thinking ahead and planning for souvenirs before you ever leave home. There are a number of ways to make your souvenirs actually quite affordable, and if you can plan your purchases as carefully as the rest of your trip, you may not end up blowing your vacation budget on souvenirs. But ya gotta have a plan!”

You can find the rest of the post right here. Come on over to join us, I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙂

Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of June 14, 2010

It’s time for my favorite post of the week: sharing favorite Disney blogs that I found especially interesting, helpful…or just plain fun.  So, as Mickey would say: “On with the show!”

The Disney Food Blog provides great information each week. This post in particular is, I think, very helpful: The Most Popular Disney World Restaurants (And Alternatives When They’re Full)

Lea at Magical Mousecapades continues a great series on the The Countries of World Showcase-Part 5: Italy

More great food information from comes from Chip and Co. with 5 DisneyWorld Snacks that are more like a Meal (and isn’t that a great way to stretch those dining dollars?)

And lastly, my weekly shameless plug for my two posts over at Chip and Co. 🙂 Should You Take Your Children Out of School for a Disney World Vacation? discussed a topic that many are familiar with.  In addition, I shared my thoughts about The Best Time of Year to Visit Walt Disney World.

That’s a wrap for this week. Hope you have a magical weekend and a wonderful Father’s Day celebrating those special Dads in your life! 🙂
