Take a Ride on the New Test Track!

Somewhat lost a bit in all the news about the New Fantasyland opening…is the fact that Test Track…a huge favorite over at Epcot….is back! And it looks awesome!

According to Disney, the new “reimagined” Test Track puts Guests “at the designer’s table for a multisensory experience as they create their own virtual concept vehicle before boarding a “SimCar” to race through a thrilling series of hills, hairpin turns and straightaways. The attraction zooms in on how meticulous vehicle design influences top performance on the open road and lets guests see how their virtual cars would perform.”

And if you, like me, are a huge fan of Test Track, then check out the video below to get an idea of what to expect:

Wordless Wednesday: Toy Soldiers

If you don’t get a chance to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can still get your picture taken with these adorable toy soldiers right at the beginning of Main Street at the Magic Kingdom!

Find out how the FREE services of a Disney World travel agent can make planning your Disney vacation simple and stress-free! And during the month of December, YOUR vacation can help one of 8 wonderful charities! Ask me how!

Karen grew up in the Boston area and traveled to Disney World many times with her parents and sister. Always staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins gave the trips a feeling of a home away from home. It also started the tradition of attending the Hoop Dee Doo Review on each trip! Somehow that show sparked her interest in the Disney College Program. Which she did in the fall of 2002, working as a hostess @ Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney. Now as an adult, Karen finds herself traveling to the parks on a yearly basis! Photography has always been a hobby of Karen’s, but over the past few years it has become her passion. It’s even taken her to her favorite place! The Make a Wish Foundation sent a family to Disney for a week and Karen was lucky enough to be their photographer of choice! She got to tag along and photograph their memories being made. She hopes to get that experience again someday! You can find more of Karen’s photography on her site www.KPportraits.com.

Cast Member’s Corner: Sleeping in the Canopy

For those of you that are not exactly up to date on your Disney History here’s a short and sweet little lesson on one of the resort options.  From 1975 to 2002 Walt Disney World offered Treehouses as an option for guests to stay.  Come 2002 though they shut these Treehouses down to the public and for a short time they housed Cast Members.  Again after this short stint Disney closed them down.  This time they closed them down to preform a major renovation.

In July 2009 the Treehouses were incorporated into part of Saratoga Springs and the result is that there are 60 new Treehouses that guests have the opportunity to stay at.  Luckily my most recent visit allowed me to stay in one of these Treehouses. Read more
