Dining at Walt Disney World: New Offerings at Downtown Disney

With the ongoing construction of “Disney Springs”, Downtown Disney is beginning to give guests newer and faster dining options, adding more walk-up options for you to feast on the go.

Being a chef I am a huge fan of food trucks. These restaurants on wheels give young chefs a chance to branch out and be creative without being tied down to one location. For diners it gives them an opportunity to sample many different things quickly and cheaply. This trend in food service has made it’s way to Downtown Disney. Terrific Tuesdays: Disney’s Hollywood Studios Street Shows

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a place for performances.  There are live stage shows, such as Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, parades like Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun, the Fantasmic! evening fireworks display, and then there are the street shows.  The big interactive street show is the Disney Channel Rocks show.

There are, however, all around the park, smaller interactive shows put on the the Citizens of Hollywood.  These can be seen at various times throughout the day, usually on Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. Read more

Disney is many things, but for the majority of the day, the busy-ness and excitement of the resorts and theme parks create an energy….and the noise level to go along with it….that is the complete opposite of peaceful, or quiet.

Still, there are times during your Disney vacation, when that is just what you are going to need. You may have little ones that just won’t nap with distractions. Perhaps you are the one that wants a quiet place to relax and unwind for a few minutes. Or maybe you just want to sit and relax in a nice cool place and get out of the sun.
