There’s nothing like Halloween at Disney World. I love Halloween no matter where I am, but there’s something extra special about this time of year in the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you’ve been with me for a while, you know it’s so special to me I spent my anniversary (the day before Halloween) in Disney a couple of years ago. With all the hullabaloo about Toy Story Land happening, everyone is hoping to get chosen and scooped up by The Claw, or fulfilling childhood dreams of riding a Slinky Dog along an Erector Set roller coaster. No? Only me? Well, the point is, all the attention is going to the new kids on the block, and many seem to be forgetting about our old friend, the Toy Story attraction that started it all in Hollywood Studios — it is very storyline appropriate, to be honest. We got a couple of new toys, and left our old one behind.

Not me. Not this girl, whose daughter now plays with 30-year-old Barbies in addition to her own. Nobody left behind. That’s why today we’re heading to the Toy Story OG — Toy Story Midway Mania. Read more

Exploring Disney: Getting Classic at the Circus

There are a few things that immediately come to mind when thinking about Classic Disney. Cinderella and her missing glass slipper. Peter Pan and Tinker Bell soaring off to Neverland. Jiminy Cricket. And, of course, Mickey Mouse.

For me, and many others, one that always makes me smile is Dumbo. Now, I’m not going to lie and tell you I love the movie. I don’t. It makes me cry. But I have a soft spot for Dumbo himself, and my little one has a love for both elephants in general, and this particular big-eared fellow. Read more

It’s called a lot of things, but we’re all talking about the same thing..Spaceship Earth. The icon of EPCOT, this glittering silver ball is what welcomes you into this beautiful park, and is one of my favorite sights of the World. It also happens to contain a must-do attraction I just can’t leave Walt Disney World without doing at least once…or twice…or six times. I can’t tell you how surprised I always am to hear people either talking about this amazing attraction as a time-filler or something they’ll do if they get the chance, or those who are stunned to even find out that there is an attraction in there at all. This attraction is Classic Disney and truly inspiring no matter how many times I ride it. The fact that Dame Judi Dench does the narration is just an awesome bonus. Read more
