Some people love a road trip and look forward to finding joy in the adventure of the journey. Friends, I am not one of those people. When I am driving, I’ve got the pedal to the metal, my eye on the prize, and don’t even think about asking me to stop unless it’s a dire emergency. I want to make good time and traffic jams make me crazy and anxious. I just want to get it over with. I have always enjoyed flying and marvel at our modern ability to travel such a great distance in such a short time. Well…airfare for our fall trip down to Florida (a Royal Caribbean cruise this time, booked through our friend Nancy here at The Affordable Mouse) was out of control. As much as I like flying, I like saving money more so we made the painful decision to drive down to Port Canaveral.

Disney with Little Ones: Water Park Fun… and More!
I haven’t quite booked our next Walt Disney World vacation yet, but I’m getting close and I am deep in the process of figuring out those big details…dates, resort, and ticket type. Since we are thinking about going in September next year, I’ve been thinking about the Water Park Fun & More option. I could go on and on about the many reasons why I answer “YES” without hesitation, but today I want to highlight the value and convenience of Disney’s transportation – specifically Disney’s Magical Express. Disney with Little Ones: The School Struggle – Part 2!
I received a lot of great feedback following the article I posted last time about whether or not to take my kids out of school for a Disney vacation. The overwhelming majority of people say that they’re only little once, family memories are just as important as formal education, and that as long as they are doing well and able to catch up, there’s nothing wrong with missing 5 days of school. I tend to agree but still hesitate and struggle with my own guilt about it. However, when I think about all of the advantages of going during the off-season, I am certainly tempted to plan a September 2017 trip. Read more
Disney with Little Ones: The School Struggle
In a few days, my youngest son will begin Kindergarten and his big brother starts 1st grade. We’ve been to Disney World with our sons two times so far and both trips were while they were in pre-school. I felt guilty for them missing school then, and now I am really struggling with making this decision about if or when I should pull them out of elementary school for our next Disney vacation.
